I Seminary of Researchers of the Bahiana

With the theme "Collaborative Research", the IV Researchers Forum of Bahiana, which took place in the auditorium of the Convention Center of the Bahiana, at the Cabula Academic Unit, on September 25, had the participation of professors and undergraduate and graduate students, members of invited research groups, in addition to evaluators from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), professors José Antônio Rocha Gontijo (UNICAMP) and João Pereira Leite (USP). The opening was attended by the director of Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani and the coordinator of Postgraduate Studies, Research and Extension, Prof. Dr. Kátia Sá.

Integrating the activities of reflection on the scientific production of the institution, the I Seminar of Researchers of the Bahiana. All activities are part of the schedule of the 14th Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana which runs until Friday, September 26th.

Prof. Kátia Sá highlighted the importance of the participation of CAPES representatives, invited by the Bahiana. “This year we are working on the theme of collaborative research and, at the same time, we are looking to improve our program's grades. So we brought it to the I Researchers Seminar of Bahiana, the leaders of the evaluation of CAPES - Medicina 1 and Medicina 2, to watch some projects of our graduates, when they were able to give suggestions for improvement. They saw and recognized the quality of what we produced from research. Today, in their presentations at the Researchers Forum, they were able to deepen these guidelines on how CAPES assesses in each of the areas, so that we can have indicators and better develop our research”.

As is the tradition of the Researchers Forum of the Bahiana, the Emeritus Researcher awards were awarded, this year given to Prof. Luiz Erlon Rodrigues and Researcher of the Year, won by Prof. Ana Marice Ladeia. "My involvement with research in Bahiana it's been happening since I got here, in 2002, and it's been growing because I felt that we needed to move forward and get there. I also dedicate this award to faculty advisors and supervisees, as it is with their work that we reach the numbers of our scientific production”, declared the winner.

Surprised by the recognition, Prof. Erlon also highlighted the great development of research within the institution. "I did not expect. THE Bahiana, where I have been a professor for 39 years, has made extraordinary progress in the last ten years, not only in undergraduate and graduate courses, but also in the area of ​​scientific investigation. Winning this award leaves me speechless!".

In the afternoon, the XII PIBIC Journey was held with the presentation of research work carried out by scholarship holders from 2013-2014.
