The possibility of the same class taking place in two different places and at the same time. This is not about deconstructing the laws of physics, but about another use of technology as an educational tool, an initiative that has been carried out since last year by Bahiana, through Optiportal. The experience placed the school as one of the highlights of the III Forum of the National Research Network, which took place from September 2nd to 4th, in Brasília.

The presentation of the Collaboration and Visualization Panel in Medicine classes was held simultaneously, in Brasília, by the manager of the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), Prof. Antonio Carlos Costa and, in Salvador, directly from the CEDETE videoconference room, by the Professor of the Physiotherapy course, Patrícia Alcântara.

The methodology used by the professors has been used in Medicine courses, when images of exams such as X-rays and CT scans are transmitted directly from Hospital Santa Izabel to CEDETE's videoconference room, where the classes take place.

“Our idea was to spend the sessions with patients without having to take the students to the hospital environment”, explains Prof. Patrícia Alcântara. She explains that, unlike the images displayed in data show and by conventional computer, Optiportal's technology allows the visualization of images in 4k, an even more precise definition than in HD (High Definition).
