teachers of Bahiana participate in the III Forum of the National Education and Research Network

The manager of the Center for the Development of Educational Technologies at Bahiana (CEDETE), Prof. Antonio Carlos Costa and the teacher of the Physiotherapy course, Patrícia Alcântara, represent the Bahiana at the III Forum of the National Education and Research Network (RNP), within the schedule of this Thursday, 4th of September. Together, the professors present, at 14:30 pm, the panel "Experience of using the Collaboration and Visualization Panel in Medicine Classes", a project carried out in partnership with Hospital Santa Izabel.

Interested teachers and education managers will be able to watch the presentation, which will be broadcast in real time to CEDETE's videoconference room, at the Coordination of Bahiana - Av. Dom João VI, nº 274, Brotas. To register, you must complete the FORM and arrive at CEDETE 15 minutes in advance.


Collaboration and Visualization Panel in Medicine Classes

In order to spread the applicability of the tool optoportal, in 2012, RNP selected six institutions to use the Collaboration and Visualization panel prototype in their regular teaching and research activities. One of the selected ones was the School Bahiana of Medicine and Public Health, which works in partnership with Hospital Santa Izabel.

Since last year, some classes have been shared between the two institutions using, simultaneously, videoconference and the panel in the transmission of clinical cases, with images of x-ray and tomography exams, for students and residents present in the hospital auditorium and in the the school's videoconferencing room. “The images are transmitted simultaneously while the class is taking place. Students can answer questions in real time", says the vice-coordinator of the School's Telemedicine and Telehealth Center Bahiana and manager of the Educational Technological Development Center (CEDETE) of the institution, Prof. Antonio Carlos Costa.


Forum of the National Education and Research Network (RNP)

Since September 2, the III Forum of the National Education and Research Network has taken place in Brasília, bringing together Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals and suppliers, public managers, research project coordinators, deans and directors of universities.

The event aims to discuss issues such as governance and leadership, cloud computing, mobility, identity management, security and privacy, legislation and regulation, telehealth and telemedicine, e-Science, networks and new technologies.
