Physiotherapy students participate in the 1st Physiotherapy Academic Symposium at Bahiana

The event took place on April 5th and 6th with workshops and lectures.

Promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Physiotherapy students. With this objective, the 1st Academic Symposium on Physiotherapy of the Bahiana, on April 5th and 6th, at Campus Cabula. Under the theme “Physiotherapy Assessment”, the initiative also aimed to stimulate reflection on trends and advances in the field of physiotherapy, provide an environment for networking between students and professionals and foster interest in scientific research and its practical applications in this field of health.

During the afternoon of April 5th, workshops were held in the areas of: dermatofunctional, with professor Rachel Trinchão; cardiorespiratory, with professor Francisco Oliveira; neurofunctional, with professor Marina Makhoul and obstetrics, with professor Amanda Araújo. The following day, seven lectures were held. All activities were taught by professors from the institution's Physiotherapy course. The event was sponsored by the companies Fisicom, SMA, Otoback, Nordeste Brindes, Pulsar, Centro de Ensino Fleury Neto, Instituto Cleber Costa and Cadu Formaturas, which offered courses and discounts on specialization courses, loan of equipment to carry out the workshops and gifts.

The entire event was organized by students from the last semester of Physiotherapy, coordinated by professor Rachel Trinchão. She explains that, in addition to promoting the exchange of knowledge, the symposium served to add experience with management and organization of scientific events to the knowledge of the trainees. “The students were at the forefront, from choosing the topic to contacting the speakers and organizers. They did such good work that the symposium is here to stay. It is already integrated into the academic calendar of the Bahiana”, declares the teacher. For graduate Isabela Rodrigues, the experience added knowledge for her future work as a physiotherapist. “It was a very rich experience for our lives, for our future. We learned how to organize an event, so that when we have our office, we know how to act”, points out the academic.
