Master Kusum Modak, an 84-year-old Indian, internationally recognized for having created the massage method that bears her name, participated in person in the classes of the first two modules of the Kusum Modak Method Course – Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapy, which took place at Campus Kabula, from 22 to 27 April. The extension course is divided into five modules and is coordinated by prof.ª Esp. Regina Puja Kinzer – physiotherapist, ayurvedic therapist and instructor of ayurvedic therapy courses.

"When I traveled around the world to spread the method, I used to conduct my workshops, sharing my knowledge with my own students. This is the first time that I carry out my work in a university", emphasizes master Kusum Modak. During her participation in the classes, she performed practical demonstrations of her technique. "What touched me the most was the teacher's courage and willingness to come to Bahia to honor her method course for the first time within the academic environment. Secondly, I was deeply touched by her humility in teaching and responding to the questions from male and female students, as well as the attentive and loving way in which she treats everyone, despite the challenges for her: the climate, the food and the very different culture, in addition to the language", points out the student Ângela Meneses.

Professor Regina Puja Kinzer emphasizes the unprecedented presence of the teacher in the classes and also emphasizes other innovations that the course started to offer. "Now, our course has a unified didactic material, which brings an alignment with the master Kusum Modak. Another point is the workload, which is being much greater than it was before". She explains that the course is divided into five modules and, of these, the first two were held in an unprecedented way, with the participation of the creator of the method.
