Biomedicine Course holds Chemistry and Biochemistry Fair
Event took place at Colégio Estadual Governador Roberto Santos.

Expand the vision of chemistry and biochemistry by exploring social, historical, scientific and behavioral areas. That was the purpose of Chemistry and Biochemistry Fair promoted by the Biomedicine course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. The event took place on the day May 13, at Colégio Estadual Governador Roberto Santos, and the central theme was “Cápsula do Tempo”, an activity in which students from Bahiana built some booths from specific times on various academic subjects.
The contents of the produced stands were: organic functions such as aldehydes and ketones, amines and amides, alcohols and carboxylic acids, ethers and esters, in addition to amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, enzymes and lipids.
Regarding the constitution of the event, the coordinator of the Biomedicine course, Geraldo Argolo, tells how everything is structured. “The Chemistry and Biochemistry Fair has been running for several editions, with wonderful creations by first semester Biomedicine students, led by chemistry and biochemistry professors”.
the chemistry teacher at Bahiana Dr. Luís Sérgio Nunes, who was one of the organizers of the fair, explains why Colégio Estadual Governador Roberto Santos was chosen for the action. "Following the vision parameters and values of the Bahiana Regarding social responsibility, we decided to include students from the state education system in the construction of new knowledge platforms, making a connection between secondary education and college. As the school is very close to the Bahiana and the director is very active in the area of education, we were convinced that this choice would be the most appropriate, as it would facilitate the logistics for holding the event”.
