Scientific Initiation for Research Projects

 

 

1. General Information

 

The Coordination of the Biomedicine course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública-EBMSP, of the Foundation Bahiana for the Development of Sciences-FBDC, informs those interested that registration is open for the submission of applications to the Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIC) for undergraduate students of the Biomedicine course. The Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program aims to awaken and encourage scientific vocation among undergraduate students, through participation in research projects, guided by active and qualified researchers, enabling the learning of scientific techniques and methods, with the improvement of critical thinking.

 

Scholarships will be funded by the Foundation Bahiana for the Development of Sciences (FBDC). Therefore, they must comply with the provisions of this notice (www.bahiana.edu.br) and comply with the regulations of the Biomedicine Course.

1.3. Eligible Students

 

Undergraduate students regularly enrolled in the Biomedicine Course (EBMSP/FBDC) up to the seventh semester may be awarded scholarships, under the in-person guidance of professors/researchers working in the Course. The accumulation of scholarships of any kind and the existence of an employment relationship during its term is prohibited.

 

Dedicate 16 (sixteen) hours at least and at most 20 (twenty) hours to the activities of the work plan.

 

 

1.4. Eligible Advisors

 

Faculty/researchers of the Biomedicine Course (EBMSP/FBDC) are eligible, holders of at least a Master's degree, with availability of guidance of at least 4 (four) weekly hours and proven scientific production in the last 5 (five) years. Each advisor may compete with 01 (one) project.

 

 

1.5. Duration and Deadlines

 

The duration of the scholarship will be 12 months.

 

 

2. Submission of Proposals - Registration

 

· FBDC/Biomedicine advisor research project submission form completed (Annex A);

 

· Work plan submission form (individual), to be developed by the grantee in the research project, completed (Annex B);

 

· Lattes curriculum summarized and updated by the supervisor (printed from Plataforma Lattes), produced in the last 05 (five) years;

 

· Scholarship applicant's academic record, authenticated by the Cabula Academic Unit Secretariat.

 

· Registration will be carried out by the candidate for advisor, by completing the specific forms (available at http://www.fdbc.edu.br) copies of which must be delivered together with the advisor's Curriculum Lattes and the student's Academic Transcript, in 02 (two) copies, in the protocol of the Cabula Academic Unit Secretariat.

 

· Applicants enrolled and evaluated in accordance with FAPESB's 2007 Scholarship Notice will be automatically enrolled in this Notice, if they file their intention with the Secretariat, being exempt from submission and evaluation.

 

 

3. Analysis and Judgment

The selection of proposals submitted to FBDC/EBMSP – Biomedicine Course, in compliance with this Notice, will follow the steps and conditions below and will comply with the judgment criteria of the Complementary Activities Committee appointed by the Curriculum Integration Council of the Course.


The judgment of the proposals will be carried out by the Committee, which will receive a score according to the Evaluation Sheets. (Annex C), resulting in a classification process for granting scholarships.

The candidates' proposals already scored by FAPESB will only enter this classification process.

 

 

4. Judgment Result

The results will be announced at the FBDC headquarters and by the Academic Unit III Secretariat.

 

 

5. Monitoring and Final Evaluation

 

The researcher will demonstrate the evolution of the fellow's work to the Coordination of the Biomedicine Course through the fellow's reports and their presentation at the EBMSP's annual Scientific Exhibition.

 

The scholarship holder must present a partial report of their activities after the first 06 (six) months of validity and a final report, within 15 days after the end of the scholarship. The evolution of the orientation will be evaluated by the Complementary Activities Committee.

 

FBDC reserves the right, at any time, to request additional information or documents deemed necessary for the evaluation and monitoring of proposals.

 

 

6. Revocation or Annulment of the Notice

 

At any time, this Notice may be revoked or annulled, in whole or in part, including the resources allocated to it by unilateral decision of FBDC, for reasons of public interest or legal requirement, without this implying rights to indemnity or claim of any kind.

 

 

7. Execution of Activities

 

A minimum of 50% of the activities must be carried out on the premises of FBDC/EBMSP – Biomedicine Course.

 

These activities must be broken down and explained in the reports.

 

 

8. Additional Information

 

The selected projects must be submitted to the Institution's Ethics Committee, when necessary.
