13th JOBA

Dentistry Course holds yet another Dental Journey of Bahiana.

On the 8th and 9th of May, students, professors and dental professionals from the state gathered at the Cabula Academic Unit to participate in the 13th Jornada Odontológica da Bahia - JOBA. This year, the event was another success with the public, with the participation of hundreds of subscribers. The program was extensive and included forums, courses, conferences, hands-on and a workshop. In parallel to JOBA, the 3rd Meeting of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology, the II Meeting of Oral Rehabilitation of the Bahiana and the 7th Alumni Meeting of Bahiana. 

 

 

             The opening ceremony was attended by the coordinator of People Development, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, then representing the director of Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani; the coordinator of the Dentistry course at Bahiana, Prof. DrUrbino Tunes; the professor coordinating the event, Emilena Xisto Lima; student body representative Hanna Thiely; the coordinator of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology Meeting, Prof. Dr. Fernando Bastos and Dr. Eduardo Aliva, representing ABO-BA. For the coordinator of Dentistry at Bahiana, Prof. Dr; Urbino Tunes, "The Joba is a work that has been built by students and professors in a very dedicated and committed way and that always presents a very good result. It is the biggest academic event in the country, made by students. relationships with other institutions and we have people from UFBA, UNIME, UEFS and other institutions here". As every year, JOBA honors a professor, in recognition of his dedication as a professor. In this edition, the professor honored was Dr. Sandra Brasil, also coordinator of the Institutional Program for Teacher Development (PROIDD). "It was a surprise and a great joy to be recognized by the students and my fellow professors and my coordinator, Professor Urbino Tunes".

"JOBA has become one of the biggest journeys in the Northeast. So this is, for us, a very special and very satisfying moment. It is noteworthy that it is an event made by students and for students and we, teachers, just guide them", highlighted the coordinator of the 13th edition, Emilena Xisto Lima, emphasizing that the success was due to the great unity and cooperation between the members of the team, professors and employees of the Bahiana.

 

The representative of the student body, academic Hanna Thiely pointed out the union of the commission as the main cause of the success of the 13th edition. "As soon as I entered the Bahiana, the Star Trek was happening and I saw people very happy. I always liked this organizational part, this leadership role. So I said: one day I will be part of this commission. Teamwork was and is being fundamental”.

 

According to academic Cauê Magalhães Navarro, from the 9th semester, the success of JOBA counted on an intense work of dissemination in partner institutions. "We have colleagues from other faculties, because of the friendship that each one of the committee has with outsiders.
