Do you know what the acronym EPI means? And what to do in case of an accident at your workplace? Did you know that to find out more about this and other information related to worker safety, you can contact the Internal Accident Prevention Commission (CIPA)? Disseminate these concepts among employees of Bahiana was the main objective of the 11th Internal Week for the Prevention of Work Accidents (SIPAT), whose activities were carried out on September 2 and 3, respectively, at the Academic Units Brotas and Kabula.

According to the president of CIPA, Ana Paula Monteiro (ADAB) "the main objective of SIPAT this year was to guide and make our employees aware of the importance of preventing accidents and diseases in the work environment, thus creating a preventionist vision, where the Employees can act in a way that recognizes unsafe conditions and practices, thus being able to take actions that can avoid undesirable results in terms of health and safety.

With the theme: "Safety is not achieved: it is done!", this year SIPAT was filled with news and prizes that stimulated the massive participation of employees, according to Alex Calmon (NUCOM), vice-president of CIPA, "we wanted to do something more extroverted. Something that went beyond the lectures, but that, at the same time, was educational, as our objective was to gain greater support from collaborators. So we held a scavenger hunt and a parody contest that were held in two editions, being one in the Academic Unit Brotas, on the 2nd of September and the other at the Cabula Academic Unit, on the 3rd".

The program also featured the CIPA stand, where collaborator Rivaldo Oliveira dos Santos (SEMEB) demonstrated how to use the famous PPE - Personal Protective Equipment, and a Healthy Eating stand, where tips and guidance on light meals were shared. and beneficial to health. Physiotherapy course teachers and students also welcomed employees during the two-day event, with the application of elastic bandages and quickmassage. "SIPAT is a unique opportunity, in addition to being a legal requirement, it is a moment in which the institution turns to a super important action which is the safety of its employees and, by extension, its students and teachers", comments the director of the Bahia Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic and coordinator of the Medicine course, Prof. Dr. Eliana de Paula.

The Occupational Medicine Service, in partnership with the Human Resources sector, also participated in the event with the Health Check-up, with the measurement of blood pressure and capillary blood glucose, as well as the Physical Education and Health program at Bahiana which was part of the activities promoting the sports offered by the School and carrying out physical assessment, self-defense demonstration classes and labor gymnastics.

“The SIPAT committee is to be congratulated, as it has been increasingly creative! This event is a very important action to be carried out and increasingly strengthened in Bahiana”, commented the coordinator of People Development, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro when starting the long-awaited 1st SIPAT Parody Contest.

SIPAT is Show

Organized fans, paper showers and a lot of creativity marked the 1st SIPAT Parodies Contest. As a theme, each song should emphasize the importance of preventing accidents in the workplace. The party was great for each of the presentations, which included the participation of employees from different sectors of the Bahiana.

There was a huge celebration when the victory of the duo Suzana Pereira (SECOP) and Marta Janete (Supplies) was announced, as they won 1st place in the Academic Unit Brotas with the parody "You have to protect yourself!". With the same enthusiasm, employees of the Cabula Academic Unit celebrated the victory of employee Márcio Santos (Patrimônio) who presented the "Baião da Prevention".

“This event is very important even for the awareness of employees who do not yet know what the CIPA is. Because of all this, I hope that the Bahiana don't stop with it. This SIPAT was really different!”, declared Suzana Pereira.

As an award, the winners won a smartphone and will re-present their compositions at the end-of-year fraternization party of the Bahiana.
