The Interdisciplinary Autism Research Laboratory of Bahiana - Labirinto, in partnership with the Institute of Humanities, Art and Sciences Professor Milton Santos - IHAC/UFBA, will hold, next Friday, March 2nd, at 18pm, the lecture “The Mental Health System in the UK” which will be delivered by Dr Dinesh Sinha, Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, UK.

During the talk, Dr. Dinesh Sinha will carry out an assessment of the UK's mental health system, using different perspectives on the current situation. In his speech, the speaker will also address the history of divisions between the biological and psychological movements in Psychiatry in the United Kingdom, comparing them with other countries and analyzing current divisions in the primary, secondary and tertiary health sectors with the role of “care program approach”.

The majority of UK healthcare services are provided through the National Health Service (NHS), which remains the largest healthcare organization in the world and the largest healthcare employer in Europe. The focus will be on the patient's perspective, therapeutic relationships and experience of health services.
