The Childhood Voiding Disorders Center - CEDIMI, which operates at the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic of Bahiana (Brotas), was among the three finalists of the VI SAÚDE! Award, 2010, in the Child Health category, with the work Parasacral Electrotherapy in children with urinary incontinence, authored by teachers from Bahiana, Dr. Ubirajara Barroso (pediatric urologist) and Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo (Physiotherapist).

The contest is organized by Saúde magazine! É Vital, from Abril, and the award ceremony took place on November 29th, at the Memorial da América Latina, in São Paulo.

The award aims to value, encourage and publicize prevention and education campaigns, clinical or surgical work and other actions that have contributed to improving the health and quality of life of Brazilians. In addition to Saúde da Criança, works were also awarded in the Heart Health categories; Women's Health; Men's Health; Mental health; Health and Prevention; and Oral Health.

The pioneering nature of the study by CEDIMI coordinators, Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo and Dr. Ubirajara Barroso, impressed the magazine's editors who published, in the January edition, a special article about the research and work carried out by CEDIMI, at ADAB. Check out. (link to full article).
