With support from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), leaders of Brazil's leading medical schools have partnered with the Dutch Institute of Health Sciences (NIHES) to launch the NIHES-Brazil Knowledge Platform. The initiative aims to promote research talent, not only in government, academia and industry, but also for healthcare professionals and students who are interested in developing new perspectives in the area through international academic experience.

The NIHES Brazil-Knowledge Platform is a response to the growing study abroad market and employer awareness so that international training creates a competitive advantage. Excited about the benefits of international collaboration, Brazilian universities are looking for new international partnerships.

The immediate objective of the initiative is to identify synergies for training in research in the area of medicine and the health sciences. These synergies should produce integrated research-training initiatives that support highly qualified students and health professionals.

With the financial support of public and private organizations, the partner universities will once again promote the international exchange of students and professors. NIHES and partner institutions will be signing formal partnership agreements at the Science Dinner organized by Erasmus University Rotterdam, in São Paulo on November 30th.
