RESEARCHERS DISCUSS ADVANCES IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

Discutir os principais avanços tecnológicos aplicados à saúde. Esse foi o principal objetivo do I Workshop Baiano de Biotecnologia Aplicada à Saúde, uma realização da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, which took place on May 21 and 22, at the Cabula Academic Unit, with the presence of researchers from different institutions, such as the University London, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal), Center for Biotechnology and Cell Therapy at Hospital São Rafael (CBTC/HSR) and University of the State of Bahia (UNEB).

The meeting also had the objective of promoting exchange and scientific discussion, establishing collaboration networks; to integrate experiences from the different areas of biotechnology and provide teachers and students with updates on the main biotechnological advances applied to the health area. 

During the two days, postgraduate and undergraduate students in the health area participated in professional activities (Biomedicine, Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy, Biology and Dentistry) from different educational institutions in Bahia.

Como atividades preparatórias, foram realizados, na sexta-feira (21) pela manhã, os minicursos: Tópicos Avançados em Analises Clínicas, Biologia Celular Oncótica, Acupuntura Estética, Estratégias de Desenvolvimento e Utilização de Vacinas Gênicas e Técnicas de Processamento Histológico.  A abertura oficial do Workshop aconteceu no início da tarde de sexta e contou com a participação de representantes da direção da Bahiana.
