After three years with its activities suspended due to the Pandemic, the program Bahiana for a day, which aims to support professional guidance work in high schools, took place again at Campus Cabula, on the afternoon of April 26th, welcoming 24 students from Colégio Vitória-Régia for a visit to the academic unit. The program offered an immersion in each course offered by the institution. The visit began in the Biomedicine course, in the microscopy laboratory, with a demonstration of blood typing, carried out by leading biomedic Emily Figueiredo.

Then, the group got to know some procedures involving vaccination, one of the activities concerning the Nursing course, presented by Prof. Jaddy Matheus. With the Physical Education teacher, Roque Sanches, the students got to know the routine of the Laboratory in Sports Sciences. Adonei Dias, physiotherapist graduated from Bahiana, presented the Skills Laboratory and spoke a little about the role of Sports Physiotherapy. The students from Vitória-Régia also visited the Dental Center of Bahiana, conducted by the management team of the health unit. The Psychology course could be made known to high school students through the Myths and Truths about Psychology activity, mediated by Prof. Amanda Gama. The visit ended with the presentation of the Morfofuncional Laboratory, coordinated by professors Suzana Araújo and Rafael Lélis.

"I already chose Psychology, but I loved getting to know the other areas and I was also interested in Nursing. Everything was very incredible, everyone is very patient, they explain things in the course, clearing up our doubts". His colleague Lua do Lago Neves also celebrates the Bahiana for one day: "In addition to the structure, as it is very beautiful here, I liked the organization. The professionals explain in a very didactic way. It was really worth coming."
