Popular names: Australian palm, Australian royal palm, seafortia, among others.
Natural occurrence: equatorial, subtropical and tropical climate.
Characteristics: elegant in size, its stipe is usually single, ringed and reaches 15 to 20 meters in height and around 20 cm in diameter. The leaves are pinnate, long, with curved rachis and lanceolate, rigid, acuminate and green leaflets. The heart of palm is long and visible, covered by light green leaf sheaths. The fruits are spherical and red drupes, attractive to birds.
Uses: can be used alone, in rows or in groups. When planted close together in pairs or trios, an interesting and sculptural effect is obtained, as the palms are slightly curved. This palm has also been cultivated for the production of heart of palm, with excellent productivity and quality.
