Popular names: jasmine-mango, frangipani.

Natural occurrence: in the Mexican states of Aguascalientes, Jalisco and Puebla to Colombia and Venezuela, and also in other regions of the world.

Characteristics: it is a tree that can reach a size between 4m and 8m. Its stems are thick and smooth, gray or tan in color and sculptural in shape. Its branches have a succulent appearance and secrete a latex when injured. The leaves are about 30 cm long, dark green and are born at the ends of the branches, falling in winter and spring.

Uses: it is widely used as an ornamental plant, due to its thick and smooth stems.
