A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública had a great performance at the 61st Brazilian Congress of Medical Education, bringing more than 50 people, including students and teachers, to participate in the event, both as listeners and speakers. The congress was held from October 5th to 8th, in Fortaleza, and had the motto “Integration of teaching-service-management and community to transform health”.

The work "A fantastic journey through the human body" – Extension activity to address the demands of the school community, by teachers Rafael Carneiro de Lélis, Maria Suzana Vasconcelos de Araújo Silva and Cláudia Costa Pinto Furtado Machado, and the work "Semiobot: a chatbot based in artificial intelligence for semiology training", by authors Marília Menezes Gusmão, Anna Emília Sousa da Silva, Fabíola Santos Sousa, Maria Isabella de Santana César, Carla Loureiro Alvarez and Amanda Héllen Sousa Leal, were awarded at the congress.

"We had several works, which were presented both in poster format and in oral presentations, and many awards in recognition of the quality of what we do in Bahiana. Our intention is to have more and more teachers and students participating and for COBEM 2024 to come!”, declared the vice-rector and coordinator of the Medicine course at Bahiana, Dr. Humberto Castro Lima Filho. For Joilson Barreto, a 12th semester Medicine student, COBEM is a great opportunity for learning and exchanging experiences. "I attended lectures, round tables, workshops and posters that addressed relevant and current topics, such as teaching-service-management and community integration, skills-based training, learning assessment, diversity and inclusion, among others. An opportunity to debate the current situation of medical schools and the upcoming challenges", reported the student.
