Researcher in the postgraduate program at Bahiana wins 1st prize at the XIV Congress of the Brazilian Society of Hospital Psychology

Psychology CongressResearcher Thalita S. Almeida de Morais, a graduate of the Professional Master's degree in Psychology and Health Interventions, won the 1st Place award in the Senior category at the XIV Congress of the Brazilian Society of Hospital Psychology, organized by the Brazilian Society of Hospital Psychology held from September 14th to 16th, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Under the guidance of professors Gustavo Marcelino Siquara and Suzane Bandeira de Magalhães, the master presented the work "Stressors in an Intensive Care Unit for the Elderly: an intervention proposal". The study aimed to identify the stressors experienced by elderly patients hospitalized in the ICU.

The research involved 185 elderly patients, who spent more than 48 hours in the ICU and were over 60 years old. According to the results, the stressors reported by the participants were "physical pain", "seeing friends and family for a few minutes a day" and "not being able to sleep".
