A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 9 laboratories, 23 rooms of class e 2 auditoriums to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. 3rd INOVA+HEALTH AWARD – Registration Extended

The award is an initiative by Universa and Instituto Avon, whose mission is to discover, recognize and give greater visibility to women who stand out in the fight to transform the lives of Brazilian women. Jaqueline Goes won the award for her projection at the beginning of the pandemic, having participated in the sequencing and, consequently, the tracking of the coronavirus. Before that, she had already emerged as one of the most promising researchers in the field of infectious diseases in the country, with work on the chikungunya and zika viruses. The Inspiring Awards announces, for this 2023 edition, the creation of the Women in Science category. The objective is to recognize the work of women in the scientific field who discovered, developed and implemented technologies or experiments capable of promoting improvements for humanity and the environment.

Biomedicine professor wins the Innovators Award

Seeking to encourage entrepreneurship in the academic environment, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública created, in 2017, the Inova+ Saúde Award, which also recognizes and disseminates ideas with transformative capacity, in addition to promoting interaction between academia, health service providers and the productive sector. This year, the initiative reaches its 3rd edition, with a partnership with Maria Emilia Foundation, and will grant R$30 to the winning projects. Trophies and financial recognition were awarded for the first three places in the amounts of R$3, R$2 and R$1, in both categories. The other winners received certificates. In total, 25 projects were registered. The second edition of Inova+ Saúde took place in 2020 and awarded two winners for each of the categories referring to the challenges proposed by the partner institutions Hospital Cárdio Pulmonar, Hospital Português and Clínica de Terapia da Dor: "Eliminate the risk of newborns falling in maternity wards "; "Optimization of the technical evaluation process of medical prescriptions for hospitalized patients"; "Improving patient adherence to treatments through interaction". In total, 12 proposals competed for the Award. Bahiana promotes awards for innovative projects in the field of Health

The Inova+ Saúde Award, an initiative by Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, in partnership with Maria Emilia Foundation, registrations are open until October 4th to encourage innovative ideas that respond to demands within the healthcare area. This year, the award will grant R$30 to the winning projects. The proposal is to provide the academic community (teachers and undergraduate and/or postgraduate students) with the opportunity to present innovative ideas that can create and/or increase social technologies in three specific categories: Diagnosis, treatment or prevention of pathologies; Health education; Preservation of the environment. "The best proposals/ideas will have the opportunity to advance to develop the MVP (minimum viable product). To this end, in addition to the financial investment resource, the members of the award-winning groups (one in each category) will also be mentored by qualified professionals for the development of the proposed technologies", explains the dean. For the executive director of the Maria Emília Foundation, Thamile Accioly, the award appears as a great opportunity for academic entrepreneurs: "We are very happy to support the Inova+ Saúde award, where we will stimulate academic entrepreneurs. Encourage academic entrepreneurship by stimulating new talents with innovative potential in the area of ​​health and quality of life. This is the objective of the Inova+ Saúde Award which, this year, reaches its 3rd edition, being an initiative of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, in partnership with Maria Emilia Foundation. Each proposing team will compete for a prize of BRL 30, to be allocated to the development of the project and training of the team, whose actions will be developed within the scope of the Pre-Incubation Program in Innovation in Health of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. The 3rd INOVA+SAÚDE Award will support the minimum viable product development phase of a solution proposed by entrepreneurial researchers aimed at developing social technologies in the form of a product, service, device, equipment, application, game or computer program applied in the area of health. Proposals must be aligned according to the following categories: Social technologies to support the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of diseases; Social technologies to support health education or popularization of science; Social technologies to support or encourage sustainability and environmental protection. Inova+ Saúde Award will award BRL 30 to innovative ideas

The 3rd edition of the Inova+ Saúde Award was launched last Friday (04/08), at Campus Cabula, with the opening of the academic semester of the stricto sensu graduate courses of Bahiana. This year, the award has a partnership with the Maria Emília Foundation, a non-profit entity whose mission is to promote, generate and disseminate knowledge and education and health technologies with a social impact. The main objective of the award is to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the State of Bahia, encouraging the development of new talent and recognition of businesses with innovative potential in the health area: <a href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/premio-inova-saude" target="_blank" rel="noopener">www.bahiana.edu.br/premio-inova-saude</a> In addition to professors and students from graduate programs at Bahiana, the event was attended by the dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, Dr. Atson Fernandes, the representative of the Secretary of Technology and Innovation of the State of Bahia Agnaldo Freitas, prof. 3rd Inova+Saúde Award

Bahiana, represented by the medical students Camila Verônica Souza Freire and Maria Eduarda Barreto de Siervi, was awarded for her scientific productions at the European Congress of Radiology 2021 (ECR - 2021). The event took place between the 3rd and 7th of March, online, through the Zoom platform. THE Bahiana participated in the meeting for the fourth time, through the Monitoring of Introduction to Operative Technique (MITO). Annually, the congress is held in Vienna, Austria. 
 
The students won awards in the Rising Stars category, for the works submitted with the support of MITO. The research entitled "Can we stimulate medical students' evidence-based and cost-effective diagnostic reasoning in Radiology? Impact of a Choosing Wisely approach" had the abstract written by Camila Freire (first author), Gabriela Fagundes Saffe, Maria Eduarda Barreto de Siervi and Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Araújo Dantas de Pinho, under the guidance of Prof.ª and Dr. Carolina Freitas Lins. The study “How can Branching Scenario tool transform and improve radiology education? The cross-sectional study" had student Maria Eduarda Barreto de Siervi as the first author of the abstract.&nbsp; 
 
In all, 13 works were submitted. Of these, only 32 were selected for the event. In addition Bahiana made the list of the 6 best student abstracts of the congress and, therefore, Camila Freire, responsible for preparing the abstract of one of the surveys, can participate in the congress, live, on March 6, to present the study. “The works had everything to do with Evidence-Based Medicine and Choosing Wisely in the teaching of Radiology”, explains Camila Freire, noting that the institution has a fundamental role in valuing these themes, in particular, evidence-based medicine, and that , thanks to this stimulus, it was possible to develop critical thinking and the necessary motivation to prepare the projects.

"The focus of the studies is on making wiser decisions, which improve the quality of medical care through scientific evidence, preventing harm to the health of patients and the health system." Camila Freire pointed out that it was extremely gratifying to contribute to scientific knowledge with such a pertinent topic, “mainly because we are in a political context that disregards data and evidence, which, unfortunately, harms many people”.
