A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 theatres, of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Santo Antônio Emergency Care Unit (UPA), a field of practice for students of the Medicine course at Bahiana, has just received national recognition as a model of public-private partnership with social impact with the potential to transform the country's social development. Linked to the municipality and under the management of Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID), since 2021, the unit is one of the success stories evaluated by the Civil Society Organization Comunitas. UPA Santo Antônio is one of the successful experiences gathered in the most recent edition of the publication: "Map of Contractualization - Highlights in public-private partnerships with social impact", being recognized for the indicators: Innovation and Economy. Pleased with the recognition of the work carried out by the team, the leader of UPA Santo Antônio, Eliana Ferreira, cites indicators of the unit that corroborate the challenges of management. "Approximately 80% of the patients who arrive at the unit are patients with a profile for primary care. Here, we receive patients from several districts of the city. Suffice it to say that 42% of the patients who seek the unit are not from the district of Itapagipe, with some coming from the Metropolitan Region of Salvador and even from other cities", she comments. Another factor that attracts the public, according to her, is the fact that 40% of the patients leaving the UPA are for Hospital Santo Antônio (HSA/OSID). For the leader of UPA Santo Antônio, these numbers are motivated "by the management of OSID, which is an institution that welcomes people and that makes a difference. "For us, seeing the recognition of our work, amid so many challenges, is gratifying, and even more gratifying is knowing that we are here continuing the legacy of Santa Dulce dos Pobres", celebrates Eliana Ferreira. Considering the fact that the UPA is the gateway for patients, the medical leader of the Irmã Duce Social Works, Elmar Dourado, highlights the strong points surrounding the selection of the UPA Santo Antônio in the mapping carried out by the organization Comunitas - Economy and Innovation. "Our UPA was elected, at a national level, as a model of good practices and efficiency in relation to social impact and in relation to its cost effectiveness. That is, in doing a lot with few resources. We have been successful and it is gratifying to see the result of teamwork, despite all the challenges faced". Within the Innovation indicator, he mentioned the fact that the Home Care Service (SAD) was implemented from the UPA Santo Antônio, later adopted in other UPAs.

To celebrate 10 years of the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health Care for the Elderly, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID) held a symposium last Friday, at the Professor Adib Janete Teaching and Research Center (CEPPAJ/OSID). Held in a hybrid format, broadcast on OSID's YouTube, the event was attended by resident academics, professors and collaborators from both institutions. A Bahiana was represented by the deans of Lato Sensu Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education, Maria de Lourdes Freitas Gomes, and of Extension, Carolina Pedroza, and by the professor and residency coordinator, Dr. Íris Soero de Jesus. Throughout the day, lectures were held involving professors and residents. Pro-Rector Carolina Pedrosa presented the topic “Health Residencies as Perspectives for Qualifying Care” and Professor Íris discussed the 10-year trajectory of the residency program. “Our partnership with OSID is increasingly strengthened. We understand that teaching-service integration is fundamental in the training of health professionals and to provide support to those already in the service, as it is through continuing education that we keep people up to date”, declared Maria de Lourdes who, together with the other representatives from the Bahiana and sister Maiara, on the occasion representing Maria Rita Lopes Pontes, superintendent of OSID, made up the opening panel of the symposium.

Multidisciplinary Residency Program in Health Care for the Elderly completes 10 years

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública will hold, in partnership with Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID), the 8st Multiprofessional Residency Symposium in Health Care for the Elderly, on March 8, from 17am to XNUMXpm, in the auditorium of the Professor Adib Janete Teaching and Research Center (CEPPAJ), located at the OSID headquarters, in Largo de Roma, in Salvador. The event will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), and registration can be done through <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://linktr.ee/simposiomultiprofissional" target="_blank" rel="noopener">this link</a>. Open to the general public, the symposium aims to discuss the importance of multi-professional residencies in the health area as a contribution to the quality of professional training within the SUS, in parallel with the 10-year anniversary of the start of the Residency Program at OSID. The event also proposes to discuss topics such as healthy aging, sexuality, rehabilitation and oncology in the elderly, the importance of the multidisciplinary team in gerontology, racism and gender in old age, among others. Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for the Elderly The Multidisciplinary Residency in Health Care for the Elderly aims to specialize health professionals in the care of the elderly, with theoretical-practical development and qualified training for health care, based on humanistic and SUS principles, adding knowledge, skills and specific attitudes to be used in the promotion, protection and recovery of health. The program requires exclusive dedication and offers six places per year for nurses, psychologists and physiotherapists.
