A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 theatres, of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Campus Brotas

Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a practical field for the quality training of Dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors, and which has capacity to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously, and Ontological clinic, providing private and accessible service to the population, performed by highly qualified professionals. <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/laboratorios-de-ensino-campus-cabula/">Discover the teaching laboratories.</a>

Professors Ana Verônica Mascarenhas (vice-coordinator of the Medicine course), Lígia Vilas Bôas (NIDD coordinator), Iêda Aleluia (coordinator of the Mental Health and Self-Care Axis and member of NIDD) and Nélia Araújo (coordinator of Integrated Clinic III and member of Cepac-Med) participated in the teacher training workshops of the LAG 3 project – To Miller's Pyramid and Beyond: Teacher Training for Systematic Student Assessment in the Professional Practice Scenario, held at USP in Ribeirão Preto, from March 17 to 19. The actors from the Griô Theater Company, Tânia Soares and Rafael Morais, also participated in the event.
Coordinated by professors Élen Romão and Mariana Kiomy Osako and professors Valdes Bolela and Luiz Troncon, the project is in partnership with Bahiana and with the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro, represented on the occasion by professors Luciana de Almeida Silva Teixeira and Andréa Licre Pessina Gasparini. Approved by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), the main objective of the project is to train teachers and preceptors, creating conditions for the evaluation of students in professional practice scenarios, with an emphasis on professionalism.
There were three intense days of learning and exchanging experiences, focused on formative assessment strategies, feedback techniques and improving students' professional identity. This partnership between Bahiana and USP-Ribeirão Preto has been strengthening since participating in LAG 1, which established the bases for the implementation of Programmatic Evaluation at the institution.

Initiative was carried out in partnership with Bahiana and the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro.

Teachers of Bahiana participate in teacher training at USP-Ribeirão Preto

The Institutional Center for Teacher Development (NIDD) and the undergraduate course in Medicine at Bahiana held, on January 27th, at the Campus of Brotas, the 1st Meeting of the Mental Health and Self-Care Axis of the course. The opening of the event was attended by the coordinator of the Medicine course and vice-rector of Bahiana, prof. Humberto de Castro Lima Filho. On the occasion, he gave a brief presentation with updates regarding the course, followed by professor Iêda Aleluia, coordinator of the Mental Health and Self-Care Axis and member of the NIDD, who presented the pedagogical conception of the Axis and how it permeates the entire course of Medicine. Alongside Prof. Lígia Vilas Bôas, coordinator of the NIDD, she also mediated the discussions with the event participants. The meeting was attended by 30 teachers from different curricular components, who were able to reflect critically on the dimension of Mental Health and Self-Care in medical training. The event highlighted the relevance of communication and sharing of pedagogical processes between teachers in this area and others in the curriculum. The importance of always revisiting the Pedagogical Project of the course was also highlighted so that each plan dialogues and is aligned with the curricular proposal.

NIDD and Medicine course hold 1st Meeting of the Mental Health and Self-Care Axis

The Institutional Center for Teacher Development (NIDD), in partnership with the Medicine course, carried out, throughout the second semester of this year, the course Medical Education and the Challenges for Good Pedagogical Practice, whose objective was to offer teachers a space to reflect, critically, on pedagogical practice, considering the social determinants of health and social diversity. The program was divided into five meetings. The first was attended by the vice-rector and coordinator of the Medicine course, prof. Humberto de Castro Lima Filho, and prof. Luiz Queiróz, who developed the theme "Our history and teaching identity", promoting a reflection on the repercussion of individual and collective pedagogical practice in medical training; the second meeting was designed around the question "Why do we need to talk about gender identities in Medical Education?" and had Prof. Carle Porcino as a guest lecturer; the following meeting hosted Prof. Andreia Beatriz Santos, who provoked a discussion on "Racism and its implications in Medical Education". The fourth meeting was led by activist Marcelo Zig, who promoted reflections on "Capacityism and intersectionality in health training". Finally, on November 13th, the last meeting was held, given by Luiz Queiroz, under the theme “Syntheses and decompositions on the current challenges of medical education”. The event was mediated by prof. Lígia Vilas Bôas, coordinator of the NIDD, prof. Iêda Aleluia and prof. Gerfson Oliveira, both members of the NIDD team and professors of the Medicine Course. According to the NIDD guidelines for the course, the understanding of social determinants and their discussion in the medical curriculum can contribute to people in training being better prepared to recognize and deal with inequalities, situations of economic and social vulnerability and unfavorable factors. biological factors that influence clinical conditions, health status and treatment, such as racism, machismo, sexism, homophobia, ableism, among other violence present in the Brazilian social structure. With due attention to social determinants in health and the complexity of an intersectional and dynamic society, professionals are challenged to act as agents of change and transformation, seeking to assume a more sensitive, critical and reflective stance so that they can meet the demands of SUS users, reduce health disparities and promote equity by offering more effective and inclusive assistance.
