A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The coordinator of the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Luciana Bilitário, received a tribute at the Salvador City Council, on October 19th, in celebration of 50 years of the regulation of the profession of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Professors Fleury Ferreira and Ana Lúcia Goes also received the honor. On the occasion, 15 physiotherapists and occupational therapists were honored. The award was promoted by councilor Duda Sanches, in partnership with the Union of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists of Bahia. At the ceremony, professor Luciana Bilitário highlighted the importance of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública for the training of professionals in the State and social actions in which the school is a partner with the City Hall.

The titling proposal was authored by parliamentarian Olívia Santana. The session filled the plenary and the participants were able to enjoy the musical performance of the group Anarkas. The honoree was received with applause by physicians, professors, students, employees, authorities and representatives of various teaching institutions in the area of ​​health. In her speech, Olívia Santana narrated the life trajectory of Dr. Maria Luisa, born in the city of São Paulo, emphasizing her commitment to the training of health professionals in Bahia. “Now, by concession of the Legislative Assembly of Bahia, Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani has been consecrated a Bahian citizen, a Bahian in body, soul and past role. For her work in welcoming everyone, without distinction, it is with great pleasure and pride that we hand over this title, with much merit to a woman of struggle, committed to democracy”, she emphasized. Before receiving the title, the honoree heard the speeches of the director of the Faculty of Medicine of UFBA, prof. Dr. Antônio Alberto Lopes, coordinator of the Medicine course and vice-rector of Bahiana, Humberto de Castro Lima Filho, by researcher and professor at Bahiana Dr. Bernardo Galvão and the president of Bahia Farma and professor at Bahiana, Ceuci Nunes. Also on the board of directors were public defender Mônica Aragão; the director of Teatro Castro Alves, Rose Lima; the dean of the Regional Council of Medicine-Cremeb-BA, Jorge Cerqueira; and the medical director of the State General Hospital, Marcos Almeida. “I told you, ladies and gentlemen, about a 48-year history of a baianity that feared not being accepted or not being legitimate. But that's over. Researcher and professor at the Bahiana doctor Bernardo Galvão Castro Filho received from the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, the diploma of Full Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC). The delivery ceremony took place this Wednesday (10/05), in Rio de Janeiro, during the ABC Magna Meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Luciana Santos, the president of CNPq, Ricardo Galvão , and other members of the entity. The chair destined for Professor Bernardo Galvão is awarded to the area of ​​Health Sciences, and the choice for his name was due to his academic and scientific career. In addition to being a member of the ABC, Bernardo Galvão is a member of the Bahia Academy of Medicine, the Bahia Academy of Sciences, the Council of the International Society of Retrovirology, the Board of Trustees of the José Silveira Foundation, the Assembly of the Brazilian Institute of Ophthalmology and Prevention of Cegueira and member of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine. Bernardo Galvao Castro Filho Bernardo Galvão Castro Filho holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and is a professor at the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (Bahiana) and researcher at Fiocruz. He is one of the great scientific leaders in the fight against AIDS in Brazil, having isolated the virus that causes this immunodeficiency for the first time in Latin America, thus contributing to the implementation of screening for this virus in the country's blood banks. Currently, in Bahiana, coordinates the Integrative and Multidisciplinary Care Center for HTLV Carriers (CHTLV).

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública was honored in a Special Session of the Academia de Medicina da Bahia, for the passage of its 70 years of history. The ceremony took place virtually via the Zoom platform on the night of December 12. On the occasion, the dean of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, held a lecture to present the main actions of the institution in recent years, such as the stricto sensu postgraduate courses, winning the GPTW Award for the best institution to work for in Bahia and the 19th place in the award in terms of national level, in addition to initiatives in the field of teaching-assistance in health. The session was attended by the president of AMB, Dr. Antônio Carlos Vieira Lopes, recently appointed director of the Foundation Bahiana for the Development of Sciences, the entity that maintains the Bahiana, and the vice-president of the entity, professor of Bahiana and coordinator of the Nucleus of Neurosciences and the HTLV Center of Bahiana, Dr. Bernardo Galvão Castro Filho, in addition to coordinators of undergraduate and graduate courses at the institution, professors and collaborators. "A school is, in essence, a place where students and teachers are at the center of teaching and learning actions. They are the very reason for its existence. Academy of Medicine of Bahia honors Bahiana for its 70 years of foundation

The announcement was made by the board of ABC, after the Ordinary General Meeting held on December 1, 2022. In addition to the full members, the names of correspondents and affiliates, elected by vote at the meeting, were also disclosed. “I feel honored to have been elected a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. For me, it means the recognition, by my peers, of a career dedicated to Health Sciences. About 30 years ago I was welcomed by the Bahiana, enabling me to continue working in care, teaching and research. The cordial and friendly coexistence encourages me to continue fighting for a fairer and more equitable country, contributing, through SUS, to improve the health and quality of life of people living with HTLV”, celebrated the newest member of the ABC. All those elected take office on January 1, 2023. Full members and correspondents will receive their diplomas on May 10, 2023, during the ABC Magna Meeting. Affiliate members will have their graduation ceremonies associated with scientific symposiums in each region, for them to present their research, on dates to be scheduled in the future. doctor Bernardo Galvão was the only one elected for the Health Sciences area. New members were also announced for the areas of Biological, Biomedical, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Earth, Agrarian, Engineering and Social Sciences, coming from higher education and research institutions such as Unicamp, USP, UNB, UFPR, UFRJ, MPEG and UFRGS.

The professors of the Biomedicine course at Bahiana Gabriel Andrade Nonato Queiroz, Thomas Pitangueira Barros and Edson Marcos Ferreira de Oliveira received the Biomedical of the Year Award for their invaluable and valuable services in favor of Biomedicine and Brazilian society.
