A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. "Participating in this forum is also promoting our personal development and I believe that, when the institution works on our personal side, this is reflected in the improvement of our methodologies and our view of the student, understanding that, in addition to being there learning, they has a life behind it", this was the perception of the former student and current professor of the Physiotherapy course, Juliana Guimarães, about the XX Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana which took place on the 16th and 17th of August, bringing together hundreds of participants at the Cabula Campus. The meeting's theme was "Paths to peace: us in the world and the world in us". On the topic, Psychology professor Julia Baleeiro highlights: "Promoting an event like this, which brings together the courses, is already on the path to this proposal for peace, to reduce conflicts.” For Medicine course professor Iêda Aleluia, the The chosen theme must be worked on both in the classroom and in the health professional's work environment. “Working on this topic means changing paradigms. with another who suffers, who is vulnerable. Bringing this topic to medical education and health education is fundamental”, he points out. The event was organized by a teaching committee coordinated by the dean. Bahiana, Prof. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani and the coordinator of the Institutional Center for Teaching Development (NIDD), Prof. Lígias Vilas Bôas. The program opened with the lecture "Attention and presence: how to live the challenges of today's world!", given by Institutional Development coordinator André Soliani, also a meditation instructor at the Center for Contemplative Sciences and Ethics Based on Compassion at Emory University and by the meditation instructor at Associação Palas Athena do Brasil and teacher at the Culture of Peace and Meditative Practices project at Bahiana, professor Sandra Brasil. Still on the first day, teachers and guests participated in workshops on "Feeling and Thinking" and "Practice for Peace". The program also included the lecture "Culture of Peace and Conflict Mediation", with the professor and advisor of the Palas Athena Association (SP), Antônio Fernando Stanziani. "Our pedagogical proposal aims to promote the culture of peace at all times, both in pedagogical forums and in the teacher development work carried out on a daily basis. We are always calling on people to look at the world in order to realize what changes need to happen to reduce inequalities and violence. This forum is another way to present this proposal", highlights Prof. Lígias Vilas Bôas. The second day of the XX Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana was dawned with a performance by the choir Canta Bahiana which opened the Golden Borboleguim award ceremony. This year, tributes were paid (in memoriam) to teachers who, for a long time, served the institution and left their legacy in Bahian and Brazilian society. The first person honored was Prof. Ênio Ribeiro Maynard Barreto who, over decades, was a teacher, coordinator and vice-rector of the institution. The Borboleguim Emeritus award was presented by the dean of Bahiana Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani to the current vice-rector prof. Humberto Castro Lima, who represented the honoree. The second Emeritus Borboleguim paid tribute to the professor, doctor, psychologist, speaker, writer, philosopher and religious leader André Luiz Peixinho. The award was received by the professor of Bahiana and technical director of the Vida Plena Community Complex (CCVP), Vice-Coordinator of the Multidisciplinary Residency in Family and Bahiana Prof. Eleonora Peixinho who, together with fellow member of the CCVP and professor at Bahiana Prof. Tânia Régis, received the Borboleguim de Ouro award for the 2024 edition. The event concluded with a performance “Dança das Palavras”, with dancer Alice Becker.

XX Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana

After three years of taking place remotely, due to the care with the social isolation imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana took place in person, at Campus Cabula, on the 18th and 19th of August. With the theme "University Extension: what do I have to do with it?", the 19th edition of the event received hundreds of professors from all courses at the institution who participated in an intense program with round tables, workshops, lectures and moments of cultural respite. The entire event was coordinated by the Dean of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, and by the coordinator of the Institutional Center for Teacher Development (NIDD), Prof. Lígia Vilas Bôas. "In the current context, in which social transformations and demands for a more relevant teaching and connected with the territorial reality are highlighted, it is vital to understand our role in the face of academic extension and how this process can contribute to the training of health professionals committed and engaged with freedom, with the valorization and production of knowledge, access to health, the guarantee of rights and dignified conditions of life and development", pointed out Lígia Vilas Bôas. "Our desire was to present to the professors who do not carry out extension activities what the activity is, to demystify and show that there is indeed a theoretical basis. Also, to give relevance to the issue of listening, which the extension activity brings, the loveliness , collaboration. These are things that can be applied to any action, it doesn't have to be an extension", highlighted Dr. Maria Luisa.

 The 19th edition brought as invited speakers professors Pedro Cruz, from the Federal University of Ceará, and Maria Caputo, master and doctor in Collective Health, from UFBA. “It was possible to perceive, in the professors, a willingness to be learning from each other, exchanging experiences. I have been doing extension for 20 years and, in that time, I realized that extension needs to be the starting point of university education”, said Pedro Cruz. As in all editions, the event ended with the Borboleguim de Ouro award, which this year was held twice, honoring the Dean of Extension at Bahiana, Prof. Carolina Pedroza, and the coordinator of the Common Nucleus of undergraduate courses, Prof. Luciana Oliveira.

The event brought together hundreds of professors, on August 18 and 19, at Campus Cabula.

XIX Pedagogical Forum of the Bahiana

The Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana came of age with the holding of the 18th edition, which took place on August 19 and 20, digitally, through the Zoom and YouTube platforms. With the theme "Democracy – Spread its wings over us", the forum was coordinated by the dean of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, and by the supervisor of the Institutional Center for Teaching Development (NIDD), prof.a &nbsp;Ligia Marques Vilas Boas. The first day of the event opened with the keynote lecture "The role of the University for a Critical, Creative and Democratic Formation", given by Professor Dante Gallian, from the University of São Paulo (USP). After the guest's speech, the participants integrated groups in reflective workshops, in which they were able to elaborate questions for a later debate with the speaker. In a second moment, in the afternoon, it was the turn of the guest pedagogue Rô Reyes to bring the lecture "Em Cena Ação de Aprender", in which she emphasized the importance of art in the teaching-learning process.The afternoon ended with creative workshops, which offered the opportunity to experiment with different artistic languages. The second day of the forum brought important reflections on "Education, Health and Democracy", theme of the roundtable that was mediated by Dr. Maria Luisa Cavalho Soliani, with the participation of the scientist, researcher and professor at the Bahiana Jaqueline Goes, USP visiting professor and former UFBA dean Naomar de Almeida Filho and dancer and choreographer Deborah Colcker. Broadcast on YouTube, the panel had intense audience participation via chat. On the occasion, the Golden Borboleguim awards were also given to the professor of the Medicine course Ênio Ribeiro Maynard Barreto, to the pedagogical advisor Jucinara Inácio Menezes and to the coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions, Professor Mônica Ramos Daltro for her years of dedication to Pedagogical Forum and the Bahiana. The closing, in a celebratory atmosphere, was due to the musical performance of the artists Portella Açúcar, Veko Araújo and the A Outra Banda da ABOCA.

XVIII Pedagogical Forum of the Bahiana happens in digital format

“Democracy – Spread Wings Over Us”. This will be the theme of the XVIII Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana, which will take place on August 19th and 20th in a virtual way, through the Zoom platform and through the official channel of Bahiana on Youtube. According to the supervisor of the Institutional Center for Teaching Development, Prof.ª Lígia Vilas Bôas, "The choice of the theme of the pedagogical forums of the Bahiana always seeks to dialogue with emerging issues in our society. In this way, its editions are marked by principles that aim to awaken in participants a critical sense, creativity and the cultivation of humanistic values, highlighting the political and social commitment to an engaged pedagogical practice". The activities of the first day of the forum will take place via the Zoom platform. The opening will be in charge of UNIFESP professor, Dante Gallian, who will address the theme "The role of the university for a critical, creative and democratic formation". In the afternoon, there will be a lecture with the art educator of Casa Via Magia, Rô Reyes, and creative workshops. The second day of activities will be open to the community, broadcast on the institution's YouTube channel.
