A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. The first day of face-to-face classes for undergraduate students at Bahiana was marked by the presentation of curricular components and an environmental action promoted by the committee Bahiana Green. Medicine students were the first to learn about the education and promotion of environmental sustainability actions promoted by the institution, with a chat held this Monday morning (04/03), at Campus Cabula, with the coordinator of the Medical Center Psychopedagogical Care (NAPP), Angélica Mendes and the manager of the Bahiana Verde, professor Juliana Spínola. In the afternoon, it was the turn of students from the Biomedicine, Physical Education, Nursing and Dentistry courses. On March 8th, it was the turn of Physiotherapy and Psychology students to participate in the environmental action, on Campus Brotas. Among the actions presented by Juliana Spínola are adherence to the free energy market, starting to consume from sources with low environmental impact (energy, wind and low-impact hydroelectric plants), the reduction in water consumption and the total suspension of the distribution of plastic cups. Students and employees are encouraged to bring their own containers to drink water. "We also propose to be more present in teaching, research and extension, through teacher training, so that environmental issues are addressed in accordance with what is being discussed about health", explains Spínola. For medical freshman Marcus Vinícius Almeida dos Santos, the Bahiana Green is an action that all colleges should have. "At the same time, it is welcoming and meaningful to Bahiana have this initiative, especially because not every college has this type of action, and the environment is health!” Angélica Mendes points out that the action aims to encourage students to relate to the culture of social responsibility. "We are planting trees, next to the technical area and the Bahiana Green to strengthen the institution's environmental policy and make our students understand that being healthy involves relating to the environment and the health of the planet", declares the NAPP coordinator. The action concluded with the planting of a seedling Brazilwood and another made of ironwood.

"Interface between the socio-environmental issue and health technologies: from the perspective of environmental health" was the theme of the class given by Prof. Juliana Spínola, member of the Committee Bahiana Verde, on March 24, in the curricular component Seminars on Health Technologies, which is part of the Professional Master's Degree in Health Technologies. At the invitation of the Dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, the participation of Bahiana Verde in the postgraduate program, it allowed the presentation and discussion of the theme, enabling many reflections and learning with the postgraduate students. "This experience represents a milestone in the advancement of the environmentalization process in Bahiana, driven by Bahiana Green, in the academic field", punctuated prof.ª Juliana Spínola. At the end of the class, as a way of materializing the topic addressed, organic compost kits were distributed to graduate students and professors, an environmental health technology internalized by the Bahiana.

Announcement on the distribution of organic compost on campuses

Let's give back the land, what the land gives. This is the message that the Committee Bahiana Verde brings in its organic compost distribution carts that were present at the Campi Brotas and Cabula, on the first day of the second semester. The idea was to welcome students, teachers and employees with one kilo (1kg) of organic compost (the result of the organic waste recycling process that transforms organic matter into natural fertilizer, which can be used in agriculture, gardens and plants, replacing use of chemical products) produced from waste collected in the Bahiana. Upon receiving her compost, the 5th semester Medicine student Maria Isabella de Santana César highlighted the initiative of Bahiana innovative: "It provides students with a more careful look, which is what Bahiana proposes to our training. we have a Bahiana greener, more alive and in solidarity". The People Development coordinator and member of the Bahiana Verde, Luiza Ribeiro, informed that the distribution will happen in a constant way through the availability in the stock of organic compost. Formed by a multi-professional team, the Committee Bahiana Verde was created in 2017, with the aim of structuring a socio-environmental policy in Bahiana, disseminating the culture of care for the Planet and all beings that inhabit it.

The action invites everyone from the community of Bahiana to think sustainably to preserve the planet.

Cultivate sustainable attitudes: Bahiana Verde performs donation of organic compounds on campuses

The Committee Bahiana Verde promotes organic compost donation action in March, at Campus Brotas and at Campus Cabula, with the aim of drawing the attention of students, professors and employees of Bahiana to change ideas in favor of sustainability. With the return of classes in person, the initiative also aims to sensitize the community to the need to reduce the production of waste, encouraging the habit of recycling and home composting. The action seeks to increase the visibility of the School's environmental policy, involving the academic community in the actions of the Bahiana Verde. In particular, it presents the Program to freshmen, favoring their setting in a creative and loving way. "The period during the pandemic, when everyone was further away, also served to reflect on environmental issues more constantly", explained Alana Araújo, from the administrative sector of the Library and who is helping the action. Therefore, at this time of recovery, the campaign reinforces the positive message in relation to the environment and promotes contact with nature. The kits donated to students, teachers and employees in the technical-administrative area contain 1 kg of organic fertilizer, resulting from the collection of leaves and fruits from the green areas of the Bahiana during the period of the pandemic. 24m³ of compost was produced, which corresponds to two earthen buckets. Arranged in windrows on the Cabula Campus, the constant collection of organic material will enable the installation of permanent donation points throughout the school year. In the first week, around 900 kits were distributed on both campuses. The composting campaign also makes an analogy to planting new ideas and a new beginning, so the stand of Bahiana Verde, installed in the institution's courtyards, makes the fertilizers available to all interested parties, so that they can get closer, get to know the action and feel free to participate in the initiative. The next days of the campaign will be: March 16th and 18th.
