A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. Entitled 100 Women, the British broadcaster's project highlights women who have been promoting actions that give new meaning to society. Along with the Nobel Peace Prize winner, the young Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, Natália Pasternak has been actively leading the discourse against scientific fake news in columns published in national newspapers and in her social media profiles.&nbsp; Na Bahiana, the Brazilian scientist is editor of the Bridging the Gap section, in the magazine <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www5.bahiana.edu.br/index.php/evidence/about/editorialTeam" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Evidence</a>, which is aimed precisely at publishing scientific content aimed at combating medical misinformation and its harmful effects on global health and trust in science, in addition to preventing avoidable deaths, especially at this time of global health crisis.&nbsp;

The 100 Women list included Natália Pasternak and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

Qualitative Research and Peer Review was the theme of Live Bahiana, broadcast on the Institution's Youtube Channel, on September 30. The debate was promoted by Revista Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde (RPDS) and aimed to explain what it is, what it is not, what it is for and how the evaluation of qualitative research should work. The occasion brought together Catarina Brandão (publisher of RPDS), João Barreto (executive editor of <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/bahiana-journals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bahiana Journals</a>), Marilda Castelar (editor-in-chief of the RPDS) and Mônica Daltro (scientific editor of the RPDS). The researchers talked about ways to decolonize science and universalize access to scientific publications, maintaining seriousness, credibility and scientific quality. Professor Mônica Daltro also pointed out the scientific potential of the Northeast, in particular, of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. Quality research, based on theoretical plurality and scientific development from the perspective of social commitment, human rights and diversity, was also debated. In addition, the speakers highlighted the differentials of the RPDS, which brings together original texts, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, in the form of empirical research reports, theoretical articles and experience reports, with an emphasis on qualitative methods.

A study carried out by Bahiana, in partnership with the Hospital Roberto Santos – HGRS and the University of the State of Bahia – UNEB, gained international prominence by being published by the renowned scientific journal&nbsp;Plos One, an open access publication with high impact in the field of science and medicine. The research was coordinated by Professor Élen Beatriz Pinto, professor of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs in Medicine and Human Health and Master's in Health Technologies at Bahiana. Entitled “Investigating Predictors of Community Integration in Individuals After Stroke in a Residential Setting: A Longitutinal Study”, the research was carried out at the Cerebral Vascular Accident Unit of Hospital Geral Roberto Santos (UAVC-HGRS), in Salvador, and published in the scientific journal , in the month of June. The work was developed in partnership with the Motor Behavior and Neurofunctional Rehabilitation Research Group of Bahiana and with the HGRS, being the product of the Master in Technologies and Health of the Bahiana physiotherapist Isabela Matos and speech therapist Adriana Fernandes, supervised by teacher Élen Beatriz Pinto. Neurologists Pedro Antônio de Jesus, who is the coordinator of the UAVC-HGRS, and Dr. Jamary Oliveira Filho also participated in the study. “Stroke is one of the main causes of death and disability in Brazil and in the world. Furthermore, despite advances in treatments, it is known that a significant number of survivors have limitations in functional performance and social participation.&nbsp;This article is the first Brazilian study to investigate community reintegration in a cohort of stroke survivors.”, explains teacher Élen Beatriz. The researcher says that all evaluations in the study were carried out in the context of home visits, that is, in the environment in which individuals interact, with a representative sample of all the Health Districts of Salvador. “It is also important to highlight the support of the State University of Bahia, especially through Dr. Helena Fraga Maia, a researcher with expertise in studies in the field of public health”. For Professor Élen Beatriz Pinto, the research was very significant, as it broadened the perspective of study and brought researchers closer to the reality of those involved, which helped in understanding the aspects that cause the reduction of social interactions and compromise the reintegration of individuals into the community. . “This knowledge favors the systematization of rehabilitation programs and helps to define specific conducts”, he concludes.
