A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a practical field for the quality training of Dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors, and which has capacity to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously, and Ontological clinic, providing private and accessible service to the population, performed by highly qualified professionals. <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/laboratorios-de-ensino-campus-cabula/">Discover the teaching laboratories.</a>

The Interdisciplinary Autism Research Laboratory (LABIRINTO) at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública held, on the 1st and 2nd of September, the 6th Autism Labyrinth Congress - Throughout Life, at the Gran Hotel Stella Maris, Salvador - BA. The event had more than 600 registrants who, over the two days, were able to exchange experiences, have contact with more recent research and studies on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and expand their network of relationships in the academic and personal spheres. The congress was coordinated by professors Milena Pondé and Gustavo Siquara. The congress also proposed the social importance of autism and how it is essential that society is updated about the condition. People with autism can face stigma and prejudice, which can make it difficult for them to participate in many aspects of everyday life. Because it is a complex condition, autism is associated with other health issues. In this sense, the program offered participants discussions on the topics: "What is special about communicating autism throughout life"; "COMORBIDITIES IN ASD"; "ASD in girls"; “ASD and social skills”; "Potential risk of excessive screen use during the pandemic"; “Autism in different dimensions: from neuroscience to public health”, among others. “It is an event that includes professionals from various areas of health focused on autism. And the event interests many. It is an event that speaks all languages, because, to talk about autism, we need to speak all languages. Because we know that Autism Spectrum Disorder involves multiple needs, multiple challenges”, highlighted Milena Pondé. For the psychologist and former student of Bahiana Fernanda Penna Portugal, “I have always really enjoyed Neuroscience classes and I am very interested in spectrum disorders, as I intend to help children. I think the Labyrinth scale is fantastic, everything I know about the scale makes me very interested. So being here today is a privilege.”

The event was attended by students, health professionals, mothers and fathers of people with autism.

The event will bring together renowned experts to present the latest research and practices to healthcare professionals, students and parents.

6th Labyrinth of Autism Congress takes place in September

The Interdisciplinary Autism Research Laboratory (Labyrinth), linked to Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, held, from October 7th to 9th, the V Congress Labyrinth of Autism – Science and its evidences. The program brought together the most important experts on the subject, through virtual meetings, broadcast by the official channel of the Bahiana on YouTube, enabling greater accessibility to the most diverse audiences, with a total of 348 subscribers. On the first day of programming, the pre-congress was held, dedicated to parents and guardians of children with autism, with lectures and short courses. The 8th and 9th were of intense discussion on the subject, bringing together parents of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and professionals who are experts on the subject. Throughout the program, scientific panels were also presented with oral communication, in addition to artistic performances with autistic children and young people. The V Autism Labyrinth Congress – Science and its evidence culminated with the launch of the book “Labyrinth Manual for the diagnosis of autism and associated symptoms”, organized by Daniele Wanderley and professors at Bahiana, Gustavo Siquara and Milena Pondé, members of Labirinto.

Event brought together leading Brazilian experts on the subject.
