The Medi+ Program, the result of a partnership between Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and the Maria Emília Foundation, aims to transform the future of low-income students and public school graduates, providing full access to the medical course and guaranteeing their permanence until graduation.
In addition to benefiting students, the program promotes the transformation of teachers, employees and other students, enriching the educational experience with diversity and contributing to the development of socio-emotional skills.
Together, the two institutions reaffirm their commitment to transforming medical education, valuing diversity, inclusion and equal access to quality education.

The Center for Integrative and Complementary Practices of Bahiana (CEPICS) was created in 2018 and includes several professors, students, graduates, employees of the Bahiana and external partners, members of RECEPICS-BA (a network of integrative practice centers). Since then, it has carried out several teaching and extension actions, raising awareness of the academic community and care practices, both in institutional spaces and in the Municipal Health Department of Salvador, with the program Taking care of PICS, in addition to being present at internal and external events. Partnership with the State Nucleus of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Bahia – NEOJIBA. A Bahiana believes that generating opportunities and valuing art are pillars of a fair, dynamic and alive society. The school's partnership with the State Centers of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Bahia (NEOJIBA) is a combination of educational support aimed at promoting health. Since 2014, the initiative has had the special dedication of students and professors from all courses at the institution and has contributed to achieving better health levels for the beneficiary population - children and adolescents from various locations in Salvador and Bahia who make up the NEOJIBA centers , in addition to members of the technical teams. The partnership between Bahiana and the Ballé Teatro Castro Alves has borne fruit since 2016, allowing an exchange between art and education. The action coordinated by the course's professors contributes to the diversification of the fields of practice of students in training. From the physical therapy monitoring, it is possible to perceive gains in health and quality of life among the participants.

The Pelvic Floor Care Center (CAAP), created in 2014 under the coordination and initiative of Dr. Patrícia Lordêlo, is specialized in multidisciplinary care of excellence focused on diagnosis and treatment, in addition to the prevention of pelvic kinetic-functional disorders in men, women, children and care for pregnant women in pre and postpartum. CAAP is also a research center certified by the CNPq and today offers a multidisciplinary service, with doctors, physiotherapists and psychologists. The team seeks the best for the patient, following evidence-based medicine.&nbsp; The service is offered through the Unified Health System, and the patient only needs to present the SUS card and an identification document with a photo. The service always takes place on Wednesdays, from 13 pm, at the Physiotherapy Clinic of the Bahiana Health, on campus Brotas.

The Inclusion and Development Program for People with Disabilities (PCD) is a hallmark of the culture of social responsibility at Bahiana, recognized as a corporate citizen. The school maintains the quota of people with disabilities above the legally required, at the various hierarchical levels, including management groups and teachers. The program is aligned with institutional humanistic values ​​and is carried out in partnership with several institutions. Over the years, PCD has been refined to meet the real needs of people. Professionals with greater work commitment are referred to health specialists and intervention and learning groups to develop professional skills. A Bahiana performs competency-based assessments and generates career development plans.

The Cuidar Faz Bem Health Fair is one of the events of the Cuidar Faz Bem program. It is held in several neighborhoods in Salvador and brings promotion and prevention actions, strengthening the level of information in the communities and enabling academics to exercise citizenship in caring. Spaces are available for various audiences, such as booths clarifying doubts about:
· Prevention of breast and cervical cancer; · HTLV prevention and rehabilitation measures; · Guidance and prevention on mental health, lupus, H1N1 and Zica; · Playful and educational activities for children. At “Brechó Chique”, the amounts collected from the sale of products are reverted to Associação HTLVida. The actions are carried out by students of the Nursing course at Bahiana, under the supervision of teachers.

The Cuidar Faz Bem program offers Nursing students interprofessional and care management experiences. Students plan and participate in educational, artistic, scientific work and experience reports, supervised by teachers.
 The actions are linked to the Bahiana Health (Neurosciences Center - HTLV Outpatient Clinic, Epilepsy Outpatient Clinic; Neuromuscular Outpatient Clinic, Palliative Care Outpatient Clinic; Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus Outpatient Clinic; Women's Health Outpatient Clinic; Surgical Center and Dental Outpatient Material and Sterilization Center); the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs - CAPS AD Pernanbués and the Toxicological Information and Assistance Center of Bahia - CIAToxBA.
 The HEALTH FAIR – CUIDAR FAZ BEM is held annually in public spaces in Salvador, with students and professors from the various undergraduate courses of the Bahiana, developing health promotion and disease prevention actions, strengthening the level of information in communities and enabling academics to exercise citizenship in care. During the fair, the “Brechó Chique” is held, whose amounts collected are donated to the HTLVida Association.

The extension program BAHIANESCER aims to promote the inclusion of students of Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedicine, Psychology and Physiotherapy in the group of teenagers at UBS Mata Escura (Adolescer com Arte). The experience guarantees an interaction between students and the community, through the exchange of experiences, discussions and debates related to various themes that permeate “living adolescence in Bahia and Brazil”. The meetings stimulate reflections on professional training and the insertion of adolescents into the world of work, in addition to emphasizing the concept of health for this audience. Weekly Activity Schedule The activities are carried out in the Mata Escura community, aimed at the policy of comprehensive care for young people and adolescents. Several themes are discussed through playful strategies, such as: conversation circle, brainstorming, psychodrama, group dynamics. In the first year of the program, 18 meetings were held, which culminated in the presentation of the musical “Periferia: Território dos Anjos” – scripted from the experiences and discussions promoted – at Teatro Caetano Veloso (UNEB), at ACOPAMEC theater (Forest Forest) and at the XV Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana. At XV MCC, Bahianescer also participated with a successful experiences stand, a psychodrama workshop for students from Bahiana and a conversation circle about life project. The Bahianescer program was conceived by nurses Rosicleide Freitas (coordinator), Ana Maria Santos, Aidê Nunes da Silva and Andreia Lima. The motivation came from the work developed by the community health agent, Lenilson Bento, in the Adolescer com Arte Group, in the Mata Escura neighborhood. Allied to the innovative ideal of its creators, the development of the partnership became possible.
Bahianescer was born from the reception by Bahiana from the expertise of Adolescer com Arte, whose essence is to work on the potential and talents of young people for the arts, as a strategy for approaching a safe and healthy environment for discussions and learning about health promotion.&nbsp;

Nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting) and other voiding disorders are nightmares that plague many children and cause parents concern. The Childhood Urinal Disorders Center, the first center in Bahia to specialize in this type of treatment, offers guidance on how to deal with the problem. An international reference in service and research, CEDIMI provides free services in the multidisciplinary unit of Bahiana HealthOn Brotas. The center's team is multidisciplinary – made up of a pediatric urologist, a physiotherapist, nurses, a nutritionist and a psychologist – and has complete urodynamic equipment.

Center for Childhood Voiding Disorders (CEDIMI)

This laboratory aims to carry out clinical, epidemiological and basic research in the area of ​​neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically autism spectrum disorders. LABIRINTO's activities are not restricted to the scientific community. Weekly sessions for the presentation of research projects developed by the group take place weekly and are open to the general public. There are also weekly consultations for diagnostic evaluation of children who are referred by the Association of Friends of the Autist (AAMA-BA). Professors Gustavo Siquara and Milena Pondé participate in the service, as well as residents of psychiatry at Hospital Juliano Moreira, students from the internship of Psychology and scientific initiation scholarship holders from LABIRINTO. Due to the pandemic, the service has been tele-presential and the entry of new patients is suspended.

CAJU is a Community of Care for innovation and the development of light care technologies within the scope of promoting the mental health of youth in the city of Salvador. The actions are articulated in the following methodological dimensions:

Youth Care Center (CASHEW)

Almost 6 families in the Pau da Lima Sanitary District are served by the Vida Plena Community Complex (CCVP), a teaching-care unit created and maintained by the Hólon Society, in partnership with the Bahiana. Its working matrix emphasizes daily care and teaching, interdisciplinarity in professional actions, multidimensionality of problems (through the paradigm of complexity) and intersectoriality of actions. Currently, Multiprofessional Residencies in Individual and Family Clinics are offered, implemented in partnership with the Bahiana, through scholarships financed by the Health Department of the State of Bahia. All teaching activities are supervised by professors from different categories, such as: medicine, nursing, dentistry, physiotherapy, psychology, nutrition and social assistance. The CCVP also maintains an agreement with the Municipal Health Department, with the aim of establishing technical cooperation, without any financial link between the parties. Holon Society Created on March 13, 1999, Sociedade Hólon is a non-profit entity of municipal, state and federal public utility. It promotes the integration of being, knowledge and living in a biopsychosocial-spiritual evolutionary perspective. PAZ is an innovative initiative that has been offered to society for 10 years by the Medical Center of Bahiana Health, through the Unified Health System (SUS). The service is coordinated by its creator, the otorhinolaryngologist Dr. Clarice Saba, a national reference in the subject. Buzz It seems something common, but many people are unaware of the causes and specificities of tinnitus, which is the perception of sounds in the absence of a physical sound source. Unlike what many people think, it is a symptom, not a disease. It can be caused by a number of factors, such as:
· partial hearing loss; · anatomical and myofunctional conditions of the face and dental arch; · posture; · chemical and metabolic factors associated with diseases, blood disorders and diet.
Given the variety of possible causes, PAZ offers the community a multidisciplinary service. After initial and audiological evaluation, laboratory and imaging tests, the otolaryngologist can refer the patient to professionals from different specialties – internal medicine, gastroenterologist, dentist and orthodontist, nutritionist, psychologist, endocrinologist, cardiologist or physiotherapist.
Be aware, because tinnitus can be an alert for decompensation of metabolic diseases of great impact, such as: hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, etc. Therefore, its treatment is essential for improving the population's quality of life indices.&nbsp;

The course for pregnant women from Bahiana is taught by students of the institution's Medicine course. Activities are held on Campus Brotas, are biannual and free, aimed at pregnant women and parents. The program is open to the community and includes educational lectures, interactive activities on topics related to healthy pregnancy, such as the event of childbirth, puerperium, breastfeeding, care for the newborn and bonding with the baby. The activity also allows medical students from the Bahiana insert themselves in the context of Public Health as preventive health promoters, favoring the student's perception in the care process.

Course for pregnant women

Contribute to the control of this serious public health problem in our environment. This is the premise of the HTLV Center at Bahiana.
The unit provides integrated and multidisciplinary care to HTLV-infected individuals, aiming at their physical and mental well-being, with laboratory diagnosis for screening and confirmation of infection, medical follow-up, psychological and physical therapy support.
The center serves not only patients from Salvador but from the entire state of Bahia. Most HTLV patients are underprivileged individuals, being assisted by the SUS.
Its implementation has also allowed the training of technicians, undergraduate and graduate students from the schools maintained by the Foundation Bahiana for Science Development in an endemic pathology in the state, aiming to elucidate important questions about the epidemiology, pathogenesis and therapeutics and prophylaxis of this disease.

Over 20 years of activities, more than 7 people have been trained by the First Aid for All Program (PPSPT), in public and private schools, college entrance courses, companies, neighborhood associations, gyms, in addition to the Brazilian Army, the Military Police of Bahia and the Lemos de Brito Penitentiary.
What does the program offer? A basic training in first aid for the population, through a dynamic model of theoretical-practical classes. Classes are conducted in direct, simple and non-technical language to facilitate understanding by everyone involved.
Your participation is essential, as most accidents can be avoided. If they do occur, simple measures help to reduce the suffering of victims, prevent future complications and even save lives.

First aid

It benefits different audiences: elderly people, children; teenagers; families; disabled people; people who use tobacco; people with hypertension or diabetes; pregnant women and workers, in addition to other groups with emerging demands.
 In the beginning, it was called the Candeal Program, due to the fact that its actions were limited to the territory of Candeal Pequeno, being mandatory for medical students and considered an extension activity for other courses. Over time, in line with the process of reformulating curriculum guidelines, especially in relation to interprofessionalism and collaborative practices, it became a mandatory curriculum component for all undergraduate courses at the institution.
 Its pedagogical axes are: Humanization and Health Care, Group Processes, Health Education, Social Determinants of Health, Public Health Policies and Interprofessionality.
 Linked to this component, the Redes Candeal Program is developed – an extension activity with students who have graduated from the academic curricular experience.

Candeal Program/Interprofessional Practice in Health (PIS)

A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria.
