Academic-Pedagogical Supervision Nucleus - NUSP

Academic-Pedagogical Supervision Nucleus - NUSP

Since its creation in 2001, the Academic-Pedagogical Supervision has contributed to the excellence of the teaching and learning process and to the development of the institutional political-pedagogical project, accompanying and guiding didactically and pedagogically students and professors in their academic day-to-day. It was born as a demand from the Medicine course, having become a national reference due to the lack of this type of action in higher education, in particular in medical education, including within hospitals that are fields of practice. Due to the results achieved, in 2009, the institution expanded the service to all its courses, now as the Nucleus of Academic-Pedagogical Supervision (NUSP).

The Nucleus is made up of a team of specialized pedagogues, who offer advice and pedagogical support to students, professors and coordinators of undergraduate courses, promoting spaces for reflection, with sensitive and qualified listening.

The NUSP works in a perspective sociointeractionist, where the relations (with the other, with oneself, with the institution) are crucial for the quality of life and consequently the health of everyone involved in the teaching-learning process.

The NUSP team works on the campuses Brotas and Cabula and is organized as follows (supervisor - accompanying course):

Jose Narciso Paiva – Medicine course (5th to 8th semester);
Livia Meira Rocha – Dentistry course (6th to 10th semester) and NUSP manager;
Landeiro Luzenite - nursing course;
Nirane Fernandes – courses in Medicine (1st and 2nd semesters), Dentistry (1st to 5th semesters) and Physiotherapy (1st and 2nd semesters);
Maria Luisa Cardoso – Medicine course (9th to 12th semester);
Patricia Argollo - Physical Education and Biomedicine courses;
Rita PradoSilva – Medicine course (3rd and 4th semesters);
Ruth Aragon - courses in Physiotherapy (from the 3rd semester) and Psychology.
