A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. Scientific name: American Persea Mill Family: Lauraceae Origin: Native to Central America (Mexico) and some regions of South America. Natural occurrence: Central America; South America; In Brazil, it is in all states, mainly in the North. Popular names: abocado, avocado, palta, bego, avocado-blonde and avocado-blonde. Features: the avocado tree, whose fruit is the avocado, is a large, fast-growing evergreen tree, reaching over 30 meters in height. Features: endemic species of the Atlantic Forest, appearing mainly in hillside forests and forest edges. The fruits of this plant are purplish in color and have a sweet taste. It belongs to the genus psidium, from the same family and similar to guava. Uses: the species is known to contain a high content of bioactive and nutraceutical compounds, directly responsible for performing essential functions for the promotion of health and the reduction of the risk and development of diseases. Popular names: aroeira-mansa, fruit-of-thrush, aroeira-red, aroeira-pimenteira, aroeira-de-medio. Natural occurrence:&nbsp; coast from Ceará to the south of the country. Features: medium tree of 5m to 10m in height, wide crown, compound leaves, small flowers and drupe-like fruits, bright red, aromatic, giving a remarkable beauty to the tree.
Living up to one of its popular names, “fruto-de-sabiá”, the mastic is one of the most sought after species by avifauna in our country. Another quality of this species is its ability to occupy degraded areas. Uses: aroeira-mansa is one of the plants in the Brazilian pharmacopoeia. Natural occurrence: &nbsp;Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Features: evergreen shrub or tree, commonly between 3m and 12m tall. It is considered one of the most aggressive precursor species in stony and drained soils.
The term “schinos” comes from the Greek verb “schizein”, which means “to cut”, “to make an incision”, because of the cut that is made in the bark to flow the resin. The Latinized term “molle” comes from “mulli”, the name that the indigenous people of Peru give to this tree.
Usage: the multiple uses of Soft tendons date back to the time of the Incas. Origin: Australia, Indonesia, Java, New Guinea and Oceania.
popular names: umbrella tree or octopus tree. 
Natural occurrence: tropical, subtropical, oceanic and equatorial climate.
Features: plant with a single or little branched trunk that can reach up to 12 m in height, it has roots that outcrop the surface of the soil in older trees. Its leaves are large, compound, digitized, with pendulous leaflets, elliptical to oval, glossy, dark green in color and leathery in texture. The fruits that follow are globular, small and red, containing 10 to 12 kidney-shaped seeds. The dispersal is done by birds, and the seeds are able to germinate on the branches of other trees, becoming epiphytes.
Usage: in landscaping, it is used alone, in the middle of lawns or in groups forming rows, along walls, walls and fences. Young plants are widely grown in pots for indoors or terraces. Scientific name: Filicium decipiens Family: sapindaceae Origin: Asia, India, Sri Lanka. Popular names: tree-fern, Felicio, Filício.
Natural occurrence: equatorial, oceanic and tropical climates. Features: dioecious, evergreen tree, with decorative foliage, reminiscent of fern fronds, which gave it both its popular and botanical name (Filicium = fern, decipiens = false). It can reach up to 7 meters in height. Its trunk is dark, brown to greyish, with irregular scaly bark. The leaves have a winged midrib and are pinnate, with glossy leaflets. Flowering occurs in spring and summer, with small, yellow, delicately scented flowers. The fruits that form next are of the drupe type, with an ellipsoid shape and purple color when ripe, resembling black olives.
Usage: It is a very interesting tree for landscape use, due to its tropical appeal, small size and well closed, rounded and symmetrical crown, which offers cool shade in summer. Origin: Southeast Asia.

Natural occurrence: subtropical regions.
Features: are characterized by a succulent, subterranean stem (rhizome), whose "false" trunk (a pseudostem) is formed by the superimposed sheaths of its leaves. These are large, pale green, shiny, and generally oblong or elliptical in shape. The flowers are arranged in a terminal spike, around the so-called "heart" or "navel" of the banana tree. It also has spathe-shaped bracts. The "fruit", known as a banana, is actually a pseudoberry.
Usage: is an important nutritional source for humans and wildlife. It can be considered as a food of high nutritional density, that is, low caloric value and high content of nutrients (vitamins, minerals and bioactive compounds).
