Last Monday (19) the result of the award "The Best Companies to Work for in Brazil 2020" was released, which elected the 150 best companies to work, within which the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública reached the ª 29 placement in the large companies category, rising two positions in relation to the last edition, in which it was ranked 31st. The award is an initiative of the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW) in partnership with Época Negócios.

It is noteworthy that this year a Bahiana was the big winner of the regional GPTW, being considered the best company to work in Bahia for the second time: a true two-time champion.

The national ranking evaluated a universe of 3.168 companies, of which only 849 were certified as a good place to work. The survey involved 1,7 million employees across the country.

Criterion
The National Ranking took into account the data collected during a survey carried out by the GPTW Institute with the spontaneous participation of employees, in which the levels of satisfaction with the company and how they adhere to its cultural practices are measured.

For Telma Bastos, manager of the Strategic Management of People and Organizational Learning (GEPAP), the continued growth of Bahiana in the GPTW awards and in the National Ranking "The Best Companies to Work for in Brazil" is proof of how the culture based on values has been consolidated in the institution. "I think the most important thing about this is not even the 29th place in itself, but it is the way in which our values of serving, learning, teaching and transparency in communication are internalized in our organizational culture and, above all, the trust our employees have in that Bahiana welcome and take care of them”.

According to Telma, this trust is the result of the work of the leaders, "starting with our main leader, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, who inspires us on a daily basis to act in accordance with these values. The relationship of trust is a two-way construction between leaders and team members who, together, in a process of mutual maturation, transform these values into true institutional DNA.” Telma emphasizes that this result is also the result of the individual effort of each employee “to transform this environment into a better place for everyone, an excellent place to work!”
