"Microscopic pathogens: bacteria, viruses and parasites" was the topic addressed by the Stand "Micromundo", from the Biomedicine course, at the XVII Scientific and Cultural Exhibition (MCC) of the Bahiana held on October 5th and 6th, at the Cabula Academic Unit.

In order to inform the community about the identification, transmission, symptoms and treatment of diseases transmitted by pathogens, evaluated from the point of view of microbiology, the Academic Leagues of Viral Infections, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, together with the Academic League Bahiana of Immunology and PET Biomedicina organized the “Micromundo” stand.

The action carried out at the stand focused on disseminating information on methods of prevention and treatment of diseases transmitted by pathogens, considering their variety and different forms of transmission, in addition to highlighting the importance of caring for the environment. Pathogens are microscopic organisms that cause or can cause disease. Different types of pathogens include bacteria, viruses, parasites, among others.

For João Souza, a student of the fifth semester of the Biomedicine course, MMC is of paramount importance in the dissemination of prevention methods, in addition to allowing the academic community to expose their work and disseminate knowledge. “I always liked MCC a lot, as it is an event that allows the academic community to exhibit their work, in addition to supporting the extension and dissemination of knowledge. I am part of the Pet and participate in the Exhibition since I joined the Bahiana and every year we bring a new theme. I thought it was cool that the theme of art was addressed in this edition.”
