The wise words of the ex-governor of Bahia, ex-minister of health and doctor, Prof. Dr. Roberto Santos, were the highlight of the launch of the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Medicine and Human Health and Academic Master's in Health Technologies 2013 at Bahiana which took place on the morning of last Friday, March 1st, at the Cabula Academic Unit.
The opening ceremony was attended by the director of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani who, on the occasion, introduced the institution to new students, highlighting the graduate program, as well as the novelties in the application of technology in education, such as the participation of the School in the University Network of Telemedicine and Telehealth (RUTE), the creation of the Telemedicine and Telehealth Center of Bahiana (Nutesb) and the partnership between the institution and Hospital Santa Izabel for the concession of OptPortal Sagre, a device that allows the video transmission of clinical sessions and surgeries directly from the hospital unit to the Bahiana for pedagogical purposes. The coordinators of the institution's graduate program, Dr. Bernardo Galvão, Dr. Marcos Almeida, Dr. Carlos Alberto Macílio and Dr. Ana Marice Ladeia, were also present at the table.
The morning was also marked by the launch of the Scientific Journals of Bahiana in the Open Journal model. Each publication was presented by its respective editor-in-chief: Journal of Physiotherapy Research (Prof. Kátia Sá); Journals Bahiana Dentistry (Prof. Urbino Tunes); Contemporary Nursing Journal (Prof. Augusto Cesar); Journals Bahiana of Occupational Therapy (Prof. Adriana Pimentel); Brazilian Journal of Medicine and Health (Prof. Ana Marice Ladeia); Revista Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde (Prof. Marilda Castelar) and Biomedicine in Focus (Prof. Geraldo Argolo).
