The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) has just approved Implantology as an area of concentration for the Master's in Dentistry at Bahiana. The School's graduate program already offers the areas of Stomatology and Dental Clinic. According to the Dentistry coordinator at Bahiana, Prof. Urbino Tunes, “the new line of research directly meets the growing demand presented by students”.
The new research area will develop clinical and laboratory work in the scope of osseointegration, particularly related to biomaterials and rehabilitation techniques indicated in implantology, using models in humans, animals and laboratory and employing biotechnology techniques relevant to each study.
