Bahiana publishes regulations for the Researcher of the Year and Research Group of the Year Awards.

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde PúblicaThe Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies has released the regulations for the 2026 edition of the Professor Dr. Humberto Castro Lima Award – Researcher of the Year and the Research Group of the Year Award. These initiatives recognize the contribution of research professors and research groups to the development of a scientific culture, considering aspects such as the quality and relevance of scientific and technological production and the dissemination and popularization of Science, Technology and Innovation. The awards ceremony will be held on September 25th, during the XVI Researchers' Forum. 

The Professor Dr. Humberto Castro Lima Award – Researcher of the Year is an individual award and, in 2026, will grant the winner a certificate and a voucher worth R$ 2.500,00, which can be used for translation or publication of an article in a scientific journal or for participation in a scientific event with the presentation of work related to [research/research]. BahianaThe Research Group of the Year Award will recognize two groups: one in the "New or Consolidating Research Group" category, formed less than three years ago, and another in the "Consolidated Research Group" category, formed more than three years ago. Winners will receive certificates during the same event.

The evaluation of both awards will consider scientific production and activities carried out throughout 2025, according to the criteria established in the regulations. For the Researcher of the Year Award, the analysis will include, among other aspects, published articles, books and chapters, supervisions, projects approved by funding agencies, intellectual property, and scientific dissemination activities. In the case of research groups, items such as the number of PhDs, students and partner institutions, published articles, approved projects, intellectual property, organization of events, and scientific dissemination will be considered. Researchers' Lattes Curricula must be updated by September 9, 2026, while research groups must have "certified" status in the CNPq Research Group Directory.
