Students in the 1st and 2nd semesters of the Psychology course at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública participated, on the morning of last Monday (3), in the inaugural class of the semester, held on Campus BrotasIn a format different from previous editions, the program was dedicated to the presentation of Course Completion Projects (TCCs) developed by students Yasmin Teixeira Crispim Gomes, Cauã Menezes Carvalho, and Pedro Alves Tourinho Costa. The research addressed different psychosocial issues related to the digital age, bringing the incoming students closer to the scientific production built throughout their undergraduate studies.
For first-semester student Carlos Henrique Batista Barreto, the initiative provided an inspiring perspective on his academic journey. "I found it very rewarding because it makes you think ahead. It put us in the shoes of those who were there, on stage, presenting their final projects. I found the topics very interesting. For me, it was a great welcome. Today was my first day at university and I really enjoyed the experience," he highlighted.
Professor Carolina Aguiar, from the Psychology course and coordinator of the Final Course Projects, explained that the proposal seeks to value the research produced by the students and strengthen the bond between new students and their academic training. "We decided to change the format of welcoming our new students because we have observed that our Final Course Projects have been achieving increasingly higher quality. These are research projects to which students dedicate themselves for a year or more, and we want to give more visibility to this production. It is important for those who present, who see their knowledge being shared, and also for those who attend, who can imagine themselves occupying that position in the future. The idea is to make the final course project more relevant to our students' experiences from the beginning of their undergraduate studies," she stated.
