Family members, friends, and professors of the 8th-semester medical students had the opportunity to learn about the results of the research developed by the students during the public presentations of their Final Course Projects (TCC) held on the morning of May 30th at the Campus. BrotasThe event marked an important milestone in the training of future doctors, bringing together the academic community to witness the defense of studies produced throughout their undergraduate studies. The program began with a welcome to those present, followed by a presentation by Professor Juarez Pereira Dias, who highlighted some relevant theses and studies produced by the institution's students.

During the presentations, the students demonstrated mastery of their chosen topics, methodological coherence, and critical thinking skills, aspects observed by the evaluation committee. Among the works presented was the research by student Mariana Bittencourt, entitled “Demographic, clinical, therapeutic characteristics and 30-day outcomes of patients with decompensated heart failure followed up in a hospital network, after hospitalization or emergency room care”. For Mariana, sharing the results of the study with family and professors was a remarkable experience. “These are dear people who have been following our entire academic process. I wanted to show them the fruits of all the study and dedication they see at home. It was challenging, but also a great achievement,” she stated.

Emotion was also present among family members. Ana Patrícia Bittencourt Fonseca Carvalho, the student's mother, highlighted her satisfaction in witnessing this moment in her daughter's academic journey. “It's a tremendous emotion because, even though she's not yet finishing her course, it's the closing of a very important cycle and gives us the certainty that she's on the right path,” she declared. A teacher, like her husband, Ana Patrícia believes that the research experience can open new paths for Mariana. “She is extremely dedicated and has a very interesting profile for research. I see a lot of that didactic characteristic in her, the classroom experience, teaching and continuing that,” she said. The student herself recognizes this affinity: “I really enjoy teaching and I think we learn a lot by teaching. The possibility of teaching also gives us the opportunity to update ourselves and constantly learn from the students.”
