For two days, Salvador served as Brazil's main hub for innovation in healthcare, hosting the 4th National Meeting on Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Healthcare (ENEIS), which took place from March 26th to 28th at the Cabula Campus of [Institution Name - likely a university name]. The opening session, which took place on the morning of March 27th, was attended by the rector of [University Name]. Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, from the Pro-Rector of Research, Innovation and Lato Sensu Postgraduate Education and president of ENEIS, Dr. Atson Fernandes, from the representative of the Brazilian Association of Technological Research and Innovation Institutions (ABIPTI) and professor of BahianaDr. Diego Menezes, as well as representatives from the partner institutions involved in organizing ENEIS: Bahiafarma, Liga Álvaro Bahia Contra Mortality Infantil, Fiocruz Bahia, and Universidade SENAI CIMATEC.


The opening of the meeting was also marked by the keynote address "Technology as an Instrument of Social Transformation," given by the General Coordinator of Social Technology and Solidarity Economy of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), Dayvid Souza Santos. He highlighted investments in areas such as radiopharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and national industry, as well as initiatives focused on water reuse and desalination in the semi-arid region. Friday's program also included debates on the future of health, with emphasis on research into RNA vaccines applied to breast cancer, presented by Dr. Bruna Machado (SENAI/CIMATEC), and the GEN-T Project, a genomic mapping initiative of the Brazilian population, presented by Dr. Lygia da Veiga Pereira (USP).


The ENEIS Technology Fair, held on March 27th and 28th, brought together innovative initiatives such as the RehabRARAS project, focused on developing digital, therapeutic, and assistive solutions for people with rare diseases, and the Bahia-based startup Negro Atlas, which seeks to reduce inequalities in dermatological diagnosis among Black people. In addition, strategic institutions also participated, such as the Salvador Innovation Hub (IFBA), Bahiafarma, SENAI CIMATEC University, Fiocruz Bahia, and the Álvaro Bahia League Against Infant Mortality, consolidating an ecosystem that enabled the integration of science, professional training, and technological development with a focus on social impact.


ENEIS is carried out by Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, in partnership with SENAI CIMATEC University, Fiocruz Bahia, Bahiafarma and the Álvaro Bahia League Against Infant Mortality, with the support of CNPq and Capes, and the participation of ABIPTI and ANPROTEC as ambassadors of the event.
