School Bahiana presents educational managers with the new Prosef model for Medicine.

A School Bahiana received directors, pedagogical coordinators and educational advisors from high schools and preparatory courses, in order to present the Formative Selection Process (Prosef) for the Medicine course, which will be implemented in the 2027.1 selection. The meeting took place last Wednesday (11), at the Cabula Campus, with the participation of the rector of School BahianaThe event was attended by Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the Vice-Rector and Coordinator of the Medicine course, Dr. Humberto de Castro Lima Filho, and the Director of Artistic and Cultural Development, Luiza Ribeiro. Representatives from Strix, the company responsible for the pedagogical management and operation of PROSEF, were also present. Implemented in 2009, PROSEF has become a national benchmark. This training modality became a national reference, having been suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, understanding the need for a more humanistic education, the Bahiana It resumes its innovative model, which will also begin to value the humanities components in its second phase of evaluation.

The program included a presentation by Dr. Humberto de Castro Lima Filho on the role of physicians within a contemporary biopsychosocial context, highlighting their competencies, skills, and social commitment. In the second part, Strix professors Adelaide Rezende and Bernardo Rezende presented, in detail, the phases, weightings, workloads, and content to be covered in Prosef 2027.1. "This meeting took place because we need the collaboration of schools to prepare the students we want to train here. We are helping society with these changes, because our work is only worthwhile if we train these people to change the world," declared Dr. Maria Luisa Soliani.

According to the pedagogical director of Villa Global Education, Professor Selma Brito, the change proposed by Bahiana This aligns with the reality of schools, as it aims to humanize the teaching-learning process and revalues ​​humanistic and critical education. "When we received this proposal from this highly respected institution in our society, and even more so within our country, we began to realize that we are not alone in this challenge." The coordinator of High School at Colégio Portinari, Professor Cristina Lima, says she sees the resumption of Prosef as positive.
