The coordinator of the Scientific Communication Center of Bahiana (NUCC), Juliana Goulardins, and the co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Physiotherapy Research (JPR), Marina Makhoul, were part of the panel of speakers at the VIII Brazilian Congress of Neurofunctional Physiotherapy (COBRAFIN), held between November 20 and 22, 2025, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo.
During the congress, the book Physiotherapy in Autism Spectrum Disorder was launched, coordinated by Juliana Barbosa Goulardins (Bahiana), Wania Christina Jorge, Tarita Inove Oliveira Garcia and Fabiana Sarilho de Mendonça. The publication had direct contribution from Bahiana Through the contributions of professors Milena Pondé and Gustavo Siquara, who authored chapters, the interdisciplinary dialogue on practices and approaches related to ASD was broadened. The work constitutes a significant milestone in the context of rehabilitation and neurofunctional care for people with ASD, bringing together evidence and practices focused on the work of physiotherapists in neurodevelopmental disorder settings.
With the central theme "Education, science, technology and innovation promoting functionality centered on the person and family", the VIII COBRAFIN brought together, in person, the leading national and international experts as well as people with a special interest in the area of neurofunctional physiotherapy, aiming to share knowledge and strengthen relationships.
