IX Health Tech highlights innovation, social impact, and scientific recognition in Bahiana

The event brought together more than 300 students and representatives from funding institutions, and awarded prizes to the best projects of the XXIII Scientific and Technological Initiation Conference.

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública On November 13th, the 9th edition of Health Tech took place at the Cabula Campus, bringing together more than three hundred students, faculty, and representatives from institutions that promote research and innovation. Present at the opening session were: the executive director of the Maria Emília Foundation, Thamile Accioly; the director of Innovation and Productivity of the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of Bahia, Mariana Brasil; and the pro-rector of Research and Innovation of [Institution Name - missing from original text]. Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Atson Fernandes; and the magnificent rector of the institution, Dr. Maria Luisa Soliani.

The program included the panel “Experiences that Inspire: Academic Entrepreneurship with Social Impact,” featuring presentations of the ReHabRaras project by Professor Adriana Faiçal and the “Negro Atlas de Dermatologia” project by alumnus Lucas Neiva, both incubated by [organization name - missing from original text]. BahianaThe event also marked the awarding of the Prof. Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani Prize to the best works of the XXIII Scientific and Technological Initiation Conference, distributed according to the funding institutions CNPq. BahianaThe award was given by the Maria Emília Foundation, the Cardiopulmonary Hospital, and volunteer authors. The award winners received certificates from the rector and representatives of the funding agencies, in a moment celebrating the scientific production developed during undergraduate studies and in the institution's scientific initiation program.

Among the highlights of the evening, PIBIC student Maria Clara Fonseca, a Psychology student and author of the work "Sociodemographic profile of suicide among adolescents and young people in Bahia: deaths and attempts," celebrated her achievement and emphasized the importance of scientific initiation in her trajectory: "It was a transformative process that showed me I was capable of going beyond what I imagined. Scientific initiation connected me with incredible professionals, opened doors for me, and I have just been accepted into a master's program at PUC-SP. Seeing the final result and receiving this recognition is very rewarding. I'm a fan of scientific initiation!"
