Bahiana 1st Fair of Solidarity and Popular Economy held at the Cabula Campus

The event celebrated solidarity, art, and sustainability, bringing the academic community closer to local entrepreneurs and social movements.

The Green Area of ​​the Cabula Campus hosted, on October 30th, the 1st Fair of Solidarity and Popular Economy of Bahiana, an initiative focused on promoting solidarity, art, and sustainability. The event brought together students, teachers, workers, local entrepreneurs, and social movements in a program that highlighted agroecological production, regional cuisine, and socio-environmental responsibility.

During the fair, the public was able to discover and purchase agroecological and artisanal products produced locally and in a socially just manner. Among the attractions, the traditional Tabuleiro da Juçara, from the Quilombo Rio dos Macacos, was present with flavors of Bahian cuisine, reinforcing the link between culture, identity, and resistance.

Closing the program, the collective planting experience, carried out in partnership with the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), mobilized participants for a symbolic action around the Matinha do Cabula. The 1st Fair of Solidarity and Popular Economy of Bahiana It would initially be held in conjunction with the XXV Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana (MCC), however, had to be postponed due to the heavy rains that hit Salvador on the day of the event.
