Obituary: Júlio Cesar Daltro

 A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, with consternation, announces the death today in Salvador of Mr. Júlio Cesar Daltro, a key contributor to this educational institution for nearly 30 years. Mr. Júlio Cesar was brought to the school by Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, who had already counted on his support in the management of the Brazilian Institute of Ophthalmology since its creation in 1959. When Professor Humberto took over as director of the Foundation Bahiana for the Development of Sciences, in 1992, Mr. Júlio Cesar took on the role of Administrative-Financial Coordinator, having been one of the most important and capable people in the preparation, development and implementation of a new cycle of growth.

In 2008, with his departure to pursue new professional challenges, Mr. Júlio Cesar left our institution well-organized, structured, and with perfectly balanced finances, ready for new challenges.

We express our deep gratitude for everything he did and left us. We are fortunate to have spent so long with a man of upright character and true to his principles, who lived the way he chose and believed.

We invite everyone to his wake and cremation ceremony, which will take place at Jardim da Saudades Cemetery, at 14 pm.
