Psychologist and professor Maria Constança Velloso Cajado, professor of the Professional Master's in Psychology and Health Interventions at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, participated as a speaker in the Brain Death Course, of the Intra-Hospital Commission for Organ and Tissue Donation for Transplants (CIHDOTT), held at Hospital São Rafael, on September 24th.

The activity was part of the Green September program, a month dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation. With the theme "Family Reception and Interview for Organ and Tissue Donation for Transplants," the professor emphasized the importance of a humane and empathetic approach when communicating with families during this delicate time.

The course was aimed at the multidisciplinary healthcare team involved in the donation process, seeking to strengthen practices based on care, respect, and active listening — fundamental to the success of organ procurement efforts and the emotional support of families.
