A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública takes another step toward excellence in medical training by launching the Specialization Course in Sleep Medicine, the first in-person course in Bahia and one of the most comprehensive in the country. Lasting 24 months and with a 360-hour workload, the course aims to train physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various sleep disorders, combining theory, clinical practice, and research.

Coordinated by Professor Dr. Cristina Salles, one of the leading national experts in Sleep Medicine, the course boasts an excellent faculty comprised of specialists from Brazil and abroad, including Miguel Meira e Cruz (Portugal), Andrea Bacelar, Andrea Barral, Ranuzia Galtiere, and Fernanda Dubuog. The program's structure includes outpatient and sleep laboratory classes, providing practical experience in treating patients with disorders such as apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders.

The inauguration of the Sleep Clinic Bahiana, this year, further expanded the integration between teaching, research, and assistance, strengthening the institution's role as a reference center in the field. Bahiana It also houses the International Center of Clinical Sleep Medicine and Research, responsible for scientific projects and events, such as the III Sleep Bahia, consolidating the institution's leading role in training and producing knowledge in Sleep Medicine.
