A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública held the "Physical Therapy in Motion: History, Science, and Innovation" event on September 26th and 27th at the Cabula Campus, bringing together students, faculty, and specialists to reflect on the profession's advancements. The first day was dedicated to hands-on workshops, while the second featured a formal opening ceremony attended by the rector of the Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the honorary president of the event, Prof. Roseny Ferreira, the coordinator of the Physiotherapy course, Luciana Bilitário, and representatives of CREFITO-7 and COFFITO. The morning was also marked by tributes to the centenary of Dr. Humberto Castro Lima and to personalities in Physiotherapy who contributed so much to the history of the profession and the course. The scientific program included lectures and panels on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on physical therapy, the use of emerging technologies and non-invasive neuromodulation, as well as discussions on innovation, research, and the strategic role of the physical therapist. “The Physical Therapy course at Bahiana "It's the first in the Northeast among private institutions. Even so, we're always innovating, and we have a program that always strives to innovate. And this event is proof of that," said the Honorary President of the event, Professor Roseny Ferreira.
Coordinated by professors Roseny Ferreira and Rachel Trinchão, with a committee comprised of Selena Dubois, Elen Beatriz Pinto, and Cristiane Dias, the meeting also celebrated the institution's history of excellence in physical therapy. As the dean emphasized, "It is a privilege to see so many people here today who helped build the Physical Therapy program, who helped build the BahianaWe have a course that is recognized nationally and even outside Brazil, and recognized for its quality and excellence. We work to deliver people to our society who will make a difference."
