Bahiana celebrates 10 years of the Physical Education course

A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública celebrated, on the evening of last Friday, September 12th, the 10th anniversary of the Physical Education course, in an event held at the Cabula Campus. The opening panel was attended by the Director of Artistic and Cultural Development of the Bahiana, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, the Pro-Rector of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Atson Fernandes, as well as authorities such as the Secretary of Technological Development of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Daniel Almeida Filho, the State Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Marcius de Almeida Gomes, the representative of CREF-BA, Prof. Luiz Pitiá, the Superintendent of Institutional Relations, Dr. Diego Menezes, and the Coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions, Dr. Mônica Daltro.

The program included tributes, such as the centennial celebration of Professor Humberto Castro Lima, and a presentation by the course coordinator, Professor Dr. Clarcson Plácido Conceição dos Santos, who highlighted the trajectory of the undergraduate program and its impact on society. He said, "It's been ten years of hard work, expectations, and dedication from many people involved in the project. The Physical Education program at Bahiana changes life trajectories, reaffirming the transformative power of education.” Graduate and professor Daniell Muniz emotionally recalled his time as a student at the institution. “Remembering everything that Bahiana provided for us makes us look at the past and see how we are today, with a good life, building a good family. I tell all my students that who I am today is because of Bahiana. It is a great joy to have been a student of Bahiana. I'm sure it was the best choice of my life,” he said.

The meeting also featured the panel “Connections that Transform: Dialogues on Training and Professional Future,” which brought together students and alumni in a debate, moderated by Professor Ma Patrícia Argôllo. The evening concluded with a special tribute to the rector of Bahiana, Professor Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, followed by a cultural presentation and a celebratory cocktail party, reinforcing the spirit of celebration and integration surrounding a decade of achievements.
