"My feeling here today, in Bahiana, in this event of such affection and celebration, where it was possible to hear the voice that comes from the hearts of so many people, it is full of hope for the future. Music has a direct connection with psychology. Music, art, science... All of this causes this social transformation in people, and we need to increasingly humanize the world. We are here as agents of transformation, so I was deeply touched to listen and open my heart a little, to tell the story of our lives, because it's all here, in our minds." The emotional testimony of LanLan, a percussionist who participated as a guest at the VIII Psychology Conference of Bahiana, marked the morning of celebration, in which the 25th anniversary of the Psychology course, 25th anniversary of the Center for Psychopedagogical Care and the August of the Arts were celebrated. The event took place on the morning of last Wednesday, August 27th, the date on which Psychologist's Day was also celebrated.

The program opened with remarks from course coordinator Sylvia Barreto, who emphasized that the course has matured over time. "We understand that scientific exploration encompasses diversity for the perception of collective belonging and differences for the understanding of singular expressions. Our goal is to train psychologists based on ethical, moral, and humanistic values. Citizens who act as agents of transformation for a more democratic society, working in the psychosocial, institutional, and community dimensions, even dreaming of opportunities that differentiate equity from equality in practice," she stated. Also present at the event was the Canta Choir. Bahiana, which completed the celebration by commemorating its 15 years of existence. On the occasion, the professors who were part of the teaching staff of the first Psychology class, graduated in 2004, were honored, with emphasis on the first coordinator of the course, Professor Rosália Correia, who took the floor to honor the centenary of Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, sharing her experience alongside the then general coordinator of Bahiana.

The special appearance by percussionist LanLan and his wife, actress Nanda Costa, was the climax of the event. In a roundtable discussion with Luiza Ribeiro, artistic and cultural director of Bahiana, and Sylvia Barreto, they spoke about their experiences and how psychology combined with art permeated their lives during times of struggle. "I'm very moved to be here and see so many young people with hope in their eyes, thinking about the future. And I, who have relied on this support from psychology for so long in my life, am very happy to see new psychologists emerging to help this humanity that is in great need, this world that is so difficult to bear... And seeing these young people and these teachers so sensitive, it was so wonderful, so human, so much exchange... This is so vibrant life. That's what moves me, transforms me. Today was a very special day, it will stay in my heart. I'm delighted with the Bahiana! It even made me want to study psychology here," declared Nanda Costa.
