Bahiana reinforces humanized care in its obstetrics service

The Medical Center of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through Bahiana Health, maintains an obstetrics service that combines humane care, breastfeeding support, and excellent academic training. The goal is to provide pregnant women with qualified and continuous care, strengthening maternal health and promoting safer and more welcoming care experiences.

The service operates Monday through Friday, morning and afternoon, through the Unified Health System (SUS). In addition to prenatal care, patients have access to obstetric ultrasounds, clinical laboratory tests, and consultations with other specialists when necessary. The unit also provides medications such as folic acid, ferrous sulfate, and contraceptives. In cases of childbirth, pregnant women are referred to IPERBA, the region's referral hospital.
