Dean of Bahiana receives Teaching Inspiration Award

the dean of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde PúblicaDr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani was honored at the 2025 International Congress on Innovation and Research in Health Education, receiving the Teacher Inspiration Award. The event was held by the Center for Medical Education Development at the University of São Paulo's School of Medicine on July 4, 5, and 6 in São Paulo.

The award was presented by the vice-rector of Bahiana and coordinator of the Medical School, Dr. Humberto Castro Lima, who, in his speech, emphasized that today the institution is recognized regionally and nationally for its excellence in teaching, standing out among the best schools in the Folha de São Paulo ranking and belonging to the select group of higher education institutions accredited by SAEME (CFM's Medical School Accreditation System). "Dr. Maria Luisa is a progressive educator who has a strong belief in the transformative power of education, and I know she has made and continues to make many people believe in this," stated the vice-rector.

CIIPES brought together professional health educators, professionals, students (both undergraduate and graduate), scientists, innovators, startups, and policymakers, uniting science, innovation, and practice – which allowed for rich exchanges of experiences, reunions, and learning.
