Course on Myasthenia Gravis trains professionals at the Medical Center of Bahiana

The Specialized Care Service for Rare and Neuromuscular Diseases (SAEDR), at the Medical Center of Bahiana, held the course "Clinical Management of Patients with Myasthenia Gravis" on May 30, in partnership with AstraZeneca/Medscape. The activity was coordinated by Professor Dr. Marcela Costa, coordinator of SAEDR and professor of the Medicine and Professional Master's in Health Technology programs, and by Professor Dr. Cristiane Dias, manager of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Center, professor of the Physiotherapy program and also of the Professional Master's in Health Technology.

Led by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, students, and graduates of the Professional Master's in Health Technologies, the course focused on qualifying neurologists and neurophysiologists for the diagnosis and treatment of Myasthenia Gravis, through an integrated approach.

The program included a theoretical and practical immersion in the care model of the Neuromuscular Diseases Outpatient Clinic, with an emphasis on clinical evaluation based on real cases, the use of functional scales and practice in electroneuromyography.
